Although I occasionally use spinning gear and finesse presentations (theDark Side) when conditions dictate, my confidence lies in ‘power’ presentations. This season has found me with at least one spinning rod rigged and ready on my deck and it calls out to me even when my confidence baits are producing. I thought the bait monkey was a pain. When I don’t have cash though, he is easy to ignore. Not so with the Dark Side. It’s soooo easy to pick up that wand that wand is so easy on these old bones.
I need help, or a good disguise (I even disguised a spinning blank as a casting rod for a recent build). The bait monkey is even getting on board, enticing me to look at yet another spinning rod build.
Are there support groups out there? Medications? A fairly inexpensive, smooth tequila? (Actually, I found one, but am open to suggestions)

This too funny.   For me finesse fishing is using a wacky rigged worm on my T-rig gear for about five minutes.

But.............I just ordered a spinning rod and a reel yesterday to try that dropshot technique people talk about.

Buddy, I am so sorry for this serious lapse in your mental faculties.

I hope you seek professional help soon before this serious physiological condition worsen, and you become a danger to society and yourself.

If I even thought of converting to the dark side to catch a fish, I would probably admit myself into a hospital specializing in delusional behavior.

My thoughts are with you.

I throw my Neko’s on an NRX 852 with great success.....Wacky, Ned an DS are on spinning.....My accuracy is not as good with it and it just hurts after a while.  ......also thinking of trying a 1/2 ounce DS On an 852 also

I also like my casting tackle, but lately, the fish have been hard to catch on larger baits or topwater baits. I've been using a 1/8 slider head, rigged with a 4.5" Roboworm, and a 1/8 beetlespin. Not catching any large bass, but good numbers. It's fun to fight the " numbers " fish on a med spin rod too. Lots of fun.

Perhaps a round or three of

Electroshock therapy could assist in snapping you out of this most unproductive funk.

Everyone knows spinning rods are strictly used by Hacks !

Don't be a hack.

"Sissy" rods?

Ya, I know - if I was a snowflake I'd get mightily offended...I'll just shake my head and catch fish with my spinning rods and laugh.

I don't worry about going to the dark side. It can be a good place to go....

Don’t get all spooled up and bail on spinning gear. Unless you hold the rod with the reel facing up. That’s just sick!

For me the areas I fish spinning rods are my go to since most of my presentations are finesse thag being said like others said there's a time and place for everything.

Vader used a spinning rod. The dark side is the only place where you can hear the satisfying sound of a fish pulling drag. When you hear it,  you know the dark side is your destiny.

Agreed...spinning rods are for losers..so don't be that guy. Like I tell my buddies you stick to your baitcaster no matter what...I'll keep catching more fish than you.

95% of my fishing has been with a spinning rod this year. I love ‘em.
The true “dark side” is fishing for catfish.

Sorry pal, you’re beyond help, and you seeking input from us is that last thing you need, because you’re preaching to the choir and we’re enablers, lol.

And thanks to you, my monkey’s mind is stirring once again. ???

Best thing about spinning reels is when you don't catch anything to eat you can beat your eggs with it

I throw almost all of my drop shots on an imx pro 892c, amazing rod for the technique especially when I’m rigging the bait weedlessly

I have had a lot of fun lately on Fairy wand which I haven’t touched for years. Started off from left frozen shoulder forced me to hold the rod on my right, with only 2 spinning, now I have 4 more, talking about bait monkey. I can’t help you with high end rod, ever since I broke my Shimano Crucial DX68M, I had been thru a few rods with dissatisfy until I found Daiwa Tatula original 701MF. I’m whole again.

Two night ago, 4lb bass, Neko rig Zman FinesseZ, Daiwa Ballistic FW 2500S-C and Daiwa OG Tatula 701MF, this setup weight close to nothing 5.8oz reel and maybe 3.5oz rod.

I have at least 10!  Us old bassers have always called them sissy sticks as a joke among us. Wasn't us that got offended by this, but the walleye guys used to get all wadded up about it for some reason.
