Any of you have any experience with putting down flooring or matts on a jon boat? Im don't want any carpet so I have been looking at something like rubber or foam matting than can be easily removed if necessary. I dont want to add a bunch of weight really, and this foam stuff I am considering seems light and dosnt absorb hardly any water. Let me know if you have installed or had any experiences with something of the sort! By the way my boat is an 1860.

I have been considering an anti-fatigue matting sold at Lowes for my jonboat. It comes in 36 inch wide rolls(grey), sells for $4 a foot and will not absorb water. I just want something to provide better footing for my dogs.......................Al

I use large rubber (not plastic) mudflaps from tractor trailers. They can be cut to fit the boat's floor sections. Mine are over 10 years old and going strong.

Most truck stops with a garage or truck repair facilities should have plenty of old ones around, as they are a common maitenance item on large trucks. Might have to throw a couple of bucks the mechanic's way to get a stack....
