I have questions for fishermen that use worms on scrounger heads instead of swimbait bodies:

   1) Which size worm?

   2) Which size scrounger?

   3) How well did it work? Are you still using it?

Thank you for your help.      jj

I use 3/8 and 1/2 oz head with the long bill almost exclusively.   These trailer work for me.  577bb13633ac2_Scroungerbaits.thumb.jpg.ab76ed8ddf1f4a2d9cd4a8abd0622e50.jpg

What situations would you use a scrounger head?

I prefer to fish them low & slow

As for 'situations' -

They don't fish through soft cover well.

So it's pretty much the same types of places I'd fish a blade bait -

Perhaps not quite as deep and in warmer water conditions.

When the line, bait & trailer are matched properly,

this bait excels on the fall with a tight line.

On a small lift & drop retrieve, it will 'swim' back to the bottom.

That's when you get the "Thump" -

and the fight is on . . . . .
