Backroad Angler Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 This is a question completely from out of left field. Has anyone ever used like a spike it marker or even like JJ's magic, directly on the line, like before tying a lure on? I'm a straight braid guy for most of my fishing, but I'm asking if anyone does it on mono or fluro as well. I know it was/is common for people to sharpie some of the end of their braided line for confidence reasons and such, but I was wondering if using a spike it marker or whatever, would make any difference? Thanks Quote
ghost Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 I just buy a wide Sharpie marker, it's cheaper. I make to cuts/slits on the tip and run my line in one direction and thread it the other way. It will darken your braid, you will have to re-apply now and then since it will fade off. I also use a firm thin foam when I'm applying the black Sharpie, to hold the line after you have the marker flowing through so I don't get Sharpie fingers...Sharpie finger stains. Quote
Super User Tywithay Posted August 10, 2020 Super User Posted August 10, 2020 People catch a ton of fish on black lures. Never understood why people made the line darker. Only reason I could see might be a UV marker for black light fishing. Quote
