Joejoe2112 Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Someone please tell me how big do you think this is I didn’t have a scale and I am a pretty new angler and I would love to know because it is for sure my personal best Quote
OCdockskipper Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 I would say it weighs 8 lbs the way it is, but if you washed off the dirt & leaves stuck to him, he would be closer to 3 lbs. 2 4 Quote
Joejoe2112 Posted August 8, 2020 Author Posted August 8, 2020 Hahah lol thanks so much ! Ya he got a little muddy it was a heck of a fight Quote
Big Rick Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 A solid 3-3.5 lb fish. Ole girl looks healthy too. Quote
Joejoe2112 Posted August 8, 2020 Author Posted August 8, 2020 I thought for sure it would be somewhere over 5lbs ? I could barely hold him without almost dropping him. It was about 22 to 23 inches long if that helps Quote
Big Rick Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 If that's the case then, yes, it's possible it's a 5 pounder. A 23 inch long bass is a big one. Pic's are often deceiving. Didn't mean to sell ya short there. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 9, 2020 Global Moderator Posted August 9, 2020 I was guessing in the 4.5-5lb range. If it was really 22-23 inches it was likely more in the 5.5lb range even being on the lean side. Quote
Super User BrianMDTX Posted August 9, 2020 Super User Posted August 9, 2020 Just one of several “length-to-weight” charts available online. That bass is not real chunky, so my guess is 5-1/2 to 6 lbs. No matter what, it’s a great fish and congrats on your new PB! Super User JustJames Posted August 10, 2020 Super User Posted August 10, 2020 Congrat on your PB. It can be as heavy as you want since nobody can say for sure. You didn’t long hand at all and also pull back to same level as your face. That could be a solid 4-5 lb or more for sure. What do you think this one weight. Quote
Super User Angry John Posted August 10, 2020 Super User Posted August 10, 2020 A good thing to have in a tray or pocket of you bag is a seamstress tape. If your scale dies or you forget it, the measurements can save the day. If you happen to land a pb that you would like a replica having a length and girth is perfect Quote
Backroad Angler Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 I would say that bass is in the 4.8-5.5 range. Nice fish! Quote
