Who makes good Neko weights?

Some would fall off while setting a hook, and it can get $$ in a hurry. Who makes good dependable weights?

Just poke the weight in until it’s buried, then add a dab of super glue, or melt the end of the worm with a lighter, works great for me.

I know a lot of people that buy tungsten nail weights, but I've always just used wood or drywall screws.  I guess if you needed quite a bit of weight this could be a problem.  If they fall out (which they don't usually), it won't bother me much.

I like the VMC half moon wacky weights. 10 pack for $4. Comes in 1/16, 1/8 and 3/16. I’ve used the 3/16 with 4” yum dingers and never had one fall out. I’m gonna buy all sizes next time I make an order.

How heavy are those drywall screws? I've looked into some brass screws at a local Home Depot, and found them to be way too light.

im not a neko rig expert, but rather than buying fancy weights, I just took some tiny old screws and screwed them into the tip. They seem to stay pretty good due to the threads of the screws. You really gotta screw them in. as the marketers would say........this creates the dynamic enticing fish catching action which triggers the bass to bite. Go out and buy some overpriced nails today! I wouldnt bother on buying something like that, that can easily be done with something else so cheap. just my opinion. You might want to give it a shot if your trying to save some cash.

The problem with using nails is that they are far longer than tungsten of the same weight effecting the action of the worm

I normally use crappie jig as weight. I got different weight from 1/16-1/8oz, this is perfect for most of my Zman Stuff
Just recently a friend from local forum show me another trick for easy and cheap Neko Weight. Just center pin screw and split shot. It also work pretty good with none Zman plastic.

I use the tungsten nail weights.  I started off with using an old nail and found that I like the tungsten better with the smaller profile.  I started using the Vike Pagoda weights and also have gotten some of Bass Pro Shop Brand ones years ago on clearance.  They both have ridges which hold it in the worm.  As I look back, I think I may have lost maybe a couple due to breaking the line on a fish.  I've never had them fall off out of a worm or had the worm fly off the hook with them on.

I had never weighed them, but it looks like around 1/20 oz.  I use them with a Missle Baits 48 worm, and it looks like the aggregate weight is around 3/10 oz.  If you were in a lot of current or fishing them deep (and likely you are this time of year), you might want something heavier.  I don't have any footage or anything, but I like the action on these as I rig them.

I buy mine from a dealer on Ebay that makes his own. I also use Eagle Claw nail weights.

 

With both of them I use super glue to lessen the odds that a fish is going to shake them. It works. Only lost 2 weights since using this method.
