rtwvumtneer6 Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 Headed down I95 this Sunday and wondering if it's worth jumping off to visit the Ashland Bass Pro Shops? Mostly looking for sales and in house brand plastics but I know shelves are bare at a lot of tackle stores... Any insight is appreciated! Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted August 6, 2020 Super User Posted August 6, 2020 No idea about current inventories, but in normal times I highly recommend skipping BPS and going to Green Top instead. 1 Quote

Thanks. I'm certainly open to options. Looks like it's only a few minutes south of the bass pro. Is that the right place? Quote
WhittyPoo Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 BPS and Greentop are close enough to each other you may as well stop at both. Can’t speak to the inventory levels at either store though. Haven’t been to either one in over a month. Quote

The wives are trailing us in another vehicle and we're banking on it being part of a "rest stop". As much as I like that idea, it's not happening lol Quote

As much as I like that idea, it's not happening lol I believe the Wawa located by them is the last one you will find going south, every time I head down that way I have to stop to fortify myself for the terrible-coffee wasteland I’m about to enter. But yeah, I would go to Green Top if you had to pick, the prices are fairly terrible but they have a lot of interesting stuff as opposed to the more generic selection at the bass pro. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted August 6, 2020 Super User Posted August 6, 2020 Haven't been to Bass Pro lately but green tops seemed to be well stocked. I was primarily looking at fly fishing stuff but I did walk by the conventional stuff and it didn't seem empty. Majority of the traffic in that store is at the gun counter and that line will wrap around the store. Quote
OnthePotomac Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 I really like the BPS restaurant at Ashland. Good seafood. Quote

Made it to Green Top. Pretty cool place once I was able to navigate my way around the line at the gun counter ?. Appreciate the tip. 1 Quote
