I’m searching for a info for Lake/Pond vegetation with images, names and descriptions with benefits or negatives . I’m finding sites but not with the info I’m looking for like what puts off oxygen or sucks it up. Can anyone point me in the direction to a good site ?

Thanks

Usually the DNR has some documentation. After Googling, I see a lot about invasive species. There were a few documents on PA aquatic vegetation as well:

Green plants do both, produce oxygen and use oxygen.

When the sun is shining (day time) green plants produce oxygen via photosynthesis.

During the night (no light) plants use oxygen via respiration.

There should be a lot of info on the internet that goes into some detail on how all this works.

I live just over the Vermont border, and generally prefer less populated Vermont lakes, so I have been able to get some information on new lakes at https://vtfishandwildlife.com

Sites like https://massachusettspaddler.com/ will often have some info on Massachusetts lakes.

Sometimes you can find thick vegetation on google maps in the satellite view
