What’s your guys take would this work well with punching heavy vegetation

Punching heavy vegetation rests chiefly on the lure, followed by the rod.

I don't hold my reel responsible for punching, which is little more than an innocent bystander.

Daiwa put a metal handle/gear sideplate on it to reduce flex for heavier duty applications.

Well no what I’m saying is the drag strong enough I have to rods for punching both st croix one xtreme 2020 7’4h/f with a zillion hd but I use that for frogging to and my legend x 7’11 h/mf I put the elite p/f on but I didn’t know if this reel had enough drag to handle Punching as well as pitching and flipping

I bought two. One broke within an hour of use.  I got it replaced with another. The other works flawlessly. I can tell 0 difference between punching or flipping the Elite Flip/Pitch vs flipping with my Quantum Smoke or Tour reels.

Thank I was just worried the drag might not be strong enough for punching

13 lbs is plenty in my book. And Ish Monroe has several videos showing him dragging some hawgs out of some gnarly junk with 65 lb braid. Along with the 100mm handle you'll be just fine.

While I don't have this model just yet I do have the Elite Casting model and am always impressed every time I use it.
