joshuaray83 Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Man, I must be pretty lucky. I have a Bass Pro within 3 minutes and a Cabela's within 20 minutes. I haven't needed to drive to Cabela's...Bass Pro has been at least mostly stocked minus Senkos and Yum Dingers. Quote
Super User Cgolf Posted August 4, 2020 Super User Posted August 4, 2020 Only places I have been to are Farm and Fleet and Walmart and their fishing sections are pretty bare. Thankfully I am stocked up for a few years, not 2038 like Tennessee Boy though. That said one Walmart did have Googan plastics on sale, and I still passed at 3.50 a bag. 1 Quote

Super User soflabasser Posted August 4, 2020 Super User Posted August 4, 2020 Lots of stores are missing fishing gear since so many people are fishing now. I see more people fishing now than I have ever seen in the +20 years I have bass fished. Fortunately I have caught lots of nice fish this year while finding new places to stay away from the crowds. 2 Quote

I'm having a hard time finding 1/8oz. bullet weights though. BPS, Cabela's, TW and Discount Tackle are all out online. So far, everything else that I've needed I have been able to find online without much delay at all. Of course, I do have a pretty good back stock of most things! 1 Quote

Super User scaleface Posted August 5, 2020 Super User Posted August 5, 2020 Now I need new line on my wormin rod . Hope I can find it . Quote
dopey Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Everything is pretty bare here to! Luckily I have a stash. So glad I was taught the tackle making bug!!! I can pour more jigs but I have enough poured and painted and twice as many unpainted!! Over 12000 jig hooks and plenty of lead to pour more if needed. Lot's of tin split shot as lead ones are illegal here and if I have to I'll go Old School Kid and go to the hardware store and get some big hex nuts to use as sinkers!! or use 1/2 oz. ones. I know enough folks who pour plastics that I would be okay there too!! Whoever thought hoarding would be a good thing!!! Quote
Brett's_daddy Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 All of the Walmart's near me (3 within an hours drive) are completely wiped out! I've never seen anything like it for a store that isn't closing. I mean the rods & reels are almost completely empty and there are a TON of empty pegs in the bait section. I asked an employee and he said it's because Walmart buys direct from the manufacturers and due to COVID they aren't running at full capacity so the supply chain is pretty much sitting in the station waiting to be filled but no supplies are coming. That being said, I did notice a new Googan soft plastic display and that's the only new tackle I've seen this season. Quote
Super User Bankc Posted August 5, 2020 Super User Posted August 5, 2020 My Bass Pro seems to be getting large shipments in of certain things from time to time. Back in June, I went in there and they were almost out of fishing rods. Then went again in July, and they were stocked up about as full as ever. They were low on reels though. The lures were hit and miss. They'd have a bunch of one brand and be completely out of another. My local Academy and Walmarts are hit and miss depending on their location. One Academy is so bare, you'd think they'd stopped selling fishing gear if it wasn't for all of the empty shelves and labels still up. The other, which is newer and smaller, is stocked like it's a normal year. Nothing is in short supply. Same with Walmarts. Some are pretty well picked over. Others are pretty well stocked. I think it's just a matter of hitting up the areas that most anglers wouldn't think of. Kind of away from the heart of the big cities, but also away from the small towns. The suburbs on the outskirts seem to be the best bet. Especially if the stores aren't near a highway or interstate, and are a bit more difficult to get to. Quote
Super User ChrisD46 Posted August 5, 2020 Super User Posted August 5, 2020 *Reminds me of those living in the former Soviet Union ... People just got in line automatically - one day it's boots that were being sold , the next day they were selling pork and the day after that staplers ... No rhyme or reason what would show up in the stores . 2 Quote
