Captain Phil Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 I have a small collection of Heddon Tiny Torpedo lures. I am thinking about adding to my collection as a hobby. Does anyone know how many different colors and patterns these lures were made in? There seems to be hundreds if not thousands. 1 Quote
garroyo130 Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 This is one of those lures that i throw every so often despite never having any success with it. They sure are purdy though! Quote
greentrout Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 Did a quick look at lurenet where the tiny torpedo is sold ... counted 14 colors ... been around a long time so there are more than likely more than that ... I still use them when I get the opportunity to do some marsh fishing ... the clear one is deadly ... good fishing ... Quote

Captain Phil Posted July 31, 2020 Author Posted July 31, 2020 I have had these lures for some time. The Tiny Torpedo is one of the most popular Heddon lures and are still being made today. They are cheap and fairly common. With all the versions available, I think it would be fun to try to collect them all. I have too much time on my hands. ? 8 2 Quote
Heartland Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 They have been in production (Heddon Torpedo) not sure of the Tiny, since the mid 20's. Quote
Super User MIbassyaker Posted July 31, 2020 Super User Posted July 31, 2020 I wonder if the folks at the Heddon Museum might have some information on old colors? http://heddonmuseum.org/ Quote
Hower08 Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 Regular and tiny torpedos are some of my best topwaters. Smallies absolutely inhale them as well as largemouth Quote

Guitarfish Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 Be sure to post their reply. I know there's lots of colors, but I use two. The clear as stated and the frog color. The Torpedo is a go to in quiet still water. I use the small one inch version in that case. Good luck on your collection, you should be able to get quite a variety. Quote
Super User soflabasser Posted August 7, 2020 Super User Posted August 7, 2020 Nice collection of Heddon tiny torpedos. Quote

Much like the One Minus, the smaller version became the standard size somewhere along the line. Who has a full size One Minus? Quote
Smells like fish Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 And I think there is a magnum torpedo. Whatyears would the one minus been sold? Quote

Not sure when they stopped making the One Minus. There are a couple of good knockoffs still being made. I just looked it up, and the 1 Minus is available (or at least offered), as well as a Mid sized one. Edited May 17, 2021 by BassWhole! New Info 1 Quote

Krux5506 Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 I love fishing those things. I just twitch them back with good pauses in between. Likely my most successful top water lure. Ebay always has a good supply of old Heddon lures. That's where I buy Dying Flutters now if I need them because they are discontinued, but ebay prices for them are pretty reasonable as the new-ish ones aren't collectible yet. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted May 18, 2021 Super User Posted May 18, 2021 Santee-Cooper 8+ caught from the back of my boat on a Tiny Torpedo. This guy George even had a special rod he used only for the little lures - a 7-6 Ugly Stik. 1 Quote
