Does anyone have an idea for HOME storage of soft plastics? I thought about one of these but the price and the fact I will not be taking whatever I buy onto the boat this is not ideal:

I am looking some something similar, however. I don't want the standard big tote you buy at Walmart. I want something that is this "tall" where I can set many bags of soft plastics in there, like a deck of cards on it's side if you know what I mean. Any specific suggestions?

I’ve been looking into peg board for my basement.  Got pretty expensive once I realized how much board I would need to order.  Right now I have a overflowing large cardboard box.  I rummage & find surprises I forgot I bought.

Walmart or the Dollar Store both have some clear plastic storage boxes with lids that latch in place. There's a variety of sizes. I use the ones that are sized for shoe storage because I can just grab one and put it in my storage space or under the console of my boat. The lid won't blow off and it keeps the water out.

I keep mine in the plastic shoe containers and other sized plastic containers.  I then keep the baits in their original bags.   That way I can grab out the bags I need and add them to the boat.  I also like keeping them in their original bags as I can remember exactly what size, color, and style.

Tell you what, Mike. The PERFECT arrangement has come to mind! While you have plenty of space in your garage to store my soft plastics I happen to have plenty of room in my garage to keep your BOAT. Please text me when you are free to make the swap and we'll make it happen! Thanks buddy!

Mine are all kept in the original packaging and then sorted by brand into huge ziploc bags and then stored in 2 huge Rubbermaid totes.  I have a few baits that  I have a lot of that are in their own ziploc like finesse worms, TRD'S and Structure bugs.

I am not a huge snob of colors like most bass fisherman so I throw multiple colors together a lot of the time and mix them in the original packaging. I.E. if it is a green color, it's the same as any other color with green in so I mix them together.  I see the world of fishing as having pretty much 3 colors - natural, unnatural and black.

Love it! Its not getting much use by me right now anyhow. Perhaps you could store the plastics in the boat? haha

I too was wondering this because I nearly have a whole five gallon bucket full of bagged soft plastics that I will need to figure something out with. The Walmart shoe tote looks to be a good route.

I use filing cabinets, and I've never paid a cent for one. Someone's always giving one away, and they hold 3700 boxes like they were made for them.

Original packages stored in Ziploc gallon bags stored in clear plastic storage totes.  Everything is organized by type, color, and then size and then brand.  So as long as I know what I'm looking for, it's easy to find.  If I just want to browse around and look for something that inspires me, it's not too useful.

No, I wouldn't want to appear greedy or anything

I’d suggest peg board as well. It’s nice to have everything in your face so to speak and pick out what you need quickly.
