I normally carry four outfits.  One casting outfit for fishing frogs, buzzbaits and top water lures.  One for spinnerbaits, one for crankbaits and a spinning rod for soft plastics.  On occasion, I may also carry a flipping stick. Out of those four outfits, I can do whatever I need to do.

Mines similar to yours, I'd say for me it would be

Crankbait- Kvd 1.5 square bill

Jerkbait- vision 110 ( or similar)

Top water- booyah pad crasher

Soft plastics- craw or creature - used to be out boss, but since they aren't havoc anymore I'm thinking of switching to D-bombs. Also Senkos are a must have on hand.

Here is a list of lures I would never leave home without.  Heddon Tiny Torpedo, Rapala, Smithwick Devil's Horse, Hildebrandt Okeechobee Special, Rattle Trap, Zoom Trick Worm, Zoom Mag II worm, Gambler Craw, Gambler Cane Toad, Fat Free Shad.

Over the decades well over 90 percent of the fish I have caught have been on Texas rigs/ jigs , crankbaits , spinnerbaits , buzzbaits . I have other lures that I use a lot when the conditions call for it .

Honestly, i can get along fine without ever using a crankbait.  I have a lot but they are not needed usually.

Jerkbaits - I need a lot of these.  Megabass and Lucky Craft are my favorites.

Top water- Megabass popmax, Lucky Craft Sammy and Heddon Torpedos.

Soft Plastic - Finesse Worm, TRD worms(all sizes) and a creature style.

Plastic worm, jig, spinnerbait, topwater. In that order

The only "must have" that I always have with me is a Texas rig setup..worms, lizards, craws, creatures, etc...in that order.

Jigs, C-Rig, and Cranks are in a 3 way deadheat for 2nd place.

Soft plastics, Cranks, Topwater and Jigs. Not necessarily in that order. That depends on situations.

Try as I might, jigs just do not work well for me in Florida.  Our bass seem to prefer soft baits.  I believe it may be a water temperature thing or something related to Florida strain bass.  Others have reported similar observations.

I use a lot of different lures but I think I could make it in life with just a trickworm.  You can fish it weightless, weighted,  fast, slow,  and wacky.  Cut it and you got yourself a slider worm.  Cut it some more and you've got a ned bait.

Yep, that's my only must have bait.

Agree

I don’t know what it is.

Doubt if water temp is the reason but  I really can’t say, but worms and creatures always out perform jigs for me also.

Had to go through a dozen responses to see jigs.  Smh.

A quality jig

Worms... zoom u tail, Berkeley power worms, and some robo worms

A quality spinner bait

Those are the must have for me...everything else is situational.  And lord knows I have a bazillion to different things tied on... but Most of my fish come of these and I can do just fine with just these.

I'm also a proponent of soft-plastic baits.

Although my wife & I both fish from the same boat, her best producer of Florida-strain bass

is by far a 'Jig & Craw'. She tells me that I don't have the patience,

which might explain why I much prefer soft swimbaits and soft jerkbaits   :smile1:
