Hello fellow fishermen/women. I was wondering what’s your go to lures in the hot summer? I’m in Miami Florida and most canal fish and the water is usually on the darker side but I usually use the rapala shad rap for largemouth and peacock.

So many variables to consider but I almost always have tied on;

bladed jig

T-rigged plastic

buzzbait

jig

Ned rig

wacky rig

walking bait/plopper/popper depending on situation

I the summer, I will always have a popper and either plopped or a buzz bait for topwater.  I will always have 5” stick bait tied on.  After that, I tie on some things to fish deep if I am going to a reservoir or things that are vegetation friendly if I am going to the delta.

I dont have summer lures . I have situational lures . Shallow  , deep , wood , grass , current ...Crankbaits , buzzbaits , worms usually get a lot of playing time just like they do in the spring and fall .

Buzzbait morning and evening. T-rig power worm the rest of the day. That’s all that’s been working for me.

   Reminds me of the punch line, "You gonna talk or you gonna fish?"

3 jig rods on deck, a big worm/pitching setup depending in depth & cover. About covers the day in day out stuff for me. Throw in a frog or buzz bait if I'm in the shallows, too.

I have a phone . I would love to try it in a private pond just once . Growing up,  I knew   people who used them illegally.
