Dry Creek 3.5 Full Bodied Double Dipped Tubes/Bama Craw, Changeable Orange & Changeable Blue

Dry Creek 3.5 Tournament Tube/Old Ugly, Ghost Hologram & Green Pumpkin Purple Copper Flake

I don't use tubes as much as I used to. They were one of my top producing soft baits. Just not as effective as they used to be here. Lotta guys throw tubes. Strike King

KVD Pro Model Tubes and Mismo Tubes were also in the rotation. I need to down size and pick up some in 2.5/2.75" sizes.

Partial hijack, but the thread has all the right people... in southern waters when would one throw a tube and what would you throw it instead of?

Instead of pitching or flipping a jig/creature/whatever try a tube. You can T-rig it or a few companies have come out with heavier duty insert heads which work well.

The 3.5" Strike King Coffee Tube in green pumpkin is a stable in my own tube fishing world.

Reasonably priced, durable and until this weekend, almost always available.

Another very good, but lesser known tube option is right here

Been hammering fish on this one for a decade plus.

As for the tails clumping up, many brands seems to do that.

My solution is to snip off the last 1/4 inch of the tube tail,

or whatever I need to cut off the sections that are connected.

Leaving just the individual strands.

Good Luck

A-Jay, thanks to this, I'll be using tubes again. I got into them years ago because of Guido Hibdon. Dug through my stuff last night, and found 3 bags from different makes. Good versatile baits. I had good luck in the past rigged on a 1/8 oz tube jig head. Should be killer this fall. The slow erratic drop, and quivering tail is hard for bass to resist. Thanks for the recommendations on these newer models.

Guys also don't forget that a weightless tube can absolutely hammer the fish

Forget? I have never heard of this.  Just Texas rigged or what? How do you work it?

The tube is a staple for smallmouth, but not my favorite for bigmouth.

Brands I like most are the Yum Vibra King and Strike King Coffee Tube.

Yes Texas rig so it stays weedless. Let it fall on slack line and twitch. During a shad spawn this can be deadly

The only tubes I ever use are Bass Pro 4" magnum flipping tubes.  I either use a head with a wire weed guard or I stupid rig them with Blue Rock Custom Tackle stupid jig head.

I've done well with the Yum Vibra King.  I absolutely love Lake Fork Craw Tubes, but they are not the most durable tube you'll find.
