Esox pro Posted July 26, 2020 Posted July 26, 2020 Im looking for a spinners reel under $50 that I wont have to worry about fraying or nicking line that will last me forever and holds anywhere from 75-100 yrds of 12 lbs mono Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted July 26, 2020 Super User Posted July 26, 2020 Ummm - good luck on that. My Trions retail for around $40 and while they're well made and I enjoy using them...I don't expect a lifetime of service from them...and I'm 60, so lifetime is a relative thing. Quote
garroyo130 Posted July 26, 2020 Posted July 26, 2020 Pflueger President on eBay. Try to find a wood handled one if you can. Quote

Super User dodgeguy Posted July 26, 2020 Super User Posted July 26, 2020 I would never use 12 lb flouro on a spinning reel. Way to heavy a line for that. 2 Quote
Esox pro Posted July 26, 2020 Author Posted July 26, 2020 Dodgeguy its worked fine and i have caught numerous big fish as long as you do the hot water trick and spool correctly Quote

I had 10# on my Trion-30 last year, used KVD and had no issues. The 10# is now on my Trion-35. Quote
Esox pro Posted July 26, 2020 Author Posted July 26, 2020 I got a 1000 yrd spool of seaguar red label 12 lb test for $25 or $30 though I’ve noticed the remaining line on the spool is nicked and frayed and I asked about a replacement spool they said send proof of purchase which i sent a while ago and now i dont get responses any ideas ps sorry if this is off topic its a problem i have though like i said if you have the thing the guy in the video has which i do along with the hot water trick makes it work great Quote

I'm sure its fine to dunk the spool but I'm simply not a fan of dunking anything or getting water into any parts of a reel purposefully. If you choose to dunk the spool, just make sure to remove the drag stack first and fully dry that area prior to reassembly. Quote

The way I heard it explained, you dunk the plastic spool the line is sold on, then you spool it up on the reel. Quote

I own all 3 and the Revros performs well above it's price tag. It's outlasted my Supreme XT I bought at the same time in fact. The new Pfluegers just aren't what they use to be. 2 Quote
