So threads like this have been done in the past but I wanted to start one back up. What are some lures or baits if you prefer that come in price wise much lower than there performance level. I'm talking baits that punch up in weight. For me I'll start with two:1) the recently rediscovered Mr Twister phenom worm..nothing special you say? Just a plain old school 6 inch curl tail worm? How bout a worm they don't leave alone..oh yeah and a 20pk is $2.99.

2) Bomber square a- this little dude is a fish catching machine and even after upgrading hooks and rings(I only do hooks) it's still only like $5. I've got probably 15 of these in the 3/8th size and maybe have $70 in them total. That's a deal.

For me, it's the Northland Reed Runner spinnerbait. I needed a cheap spinnerbait to drag over rocks and helicopter across logs. I knew I'd lose a good few of them. This spinnerbait fills the bill. It's decent on hookups, durable enough for more than one big fish (re-bends easily) and flat-out catches fish from spring all the way through 'til late fall. Although the list is $4, I've never paid that much at a retailer.

Second is the Cotton Cordell Super Spot lipless lure. It gives me everything that I need in a trap lure, but for less money.                  jj

You guys already covered my budget al stars. Bomber Square A is my favorite square bill although they discontinued my favorite color. I haven't used the Super Spot much lately but I've had a few summers where that lure was my best producer.

They aren't cheap per pack but Zma TRDs catch way more fish per pack than anything else I've used. I usually use the same TRD for several trips and only quit using when it gets snagged.

Those BPS poppers in the bargain bin for 2.99 will catch alot of fish. Ive caught hundreds of bass using them over the years.

Practically all of Yum products. Want a stick bait? $3. Want a craw? $3. Want a finesse worm? $3. Big worm? $3. You get the point.
Big bite baits 25 packs. You can buy 25 trick sticks for the price of one pack of Senkos. Big Bite creatures are $5 for 25.
I used to like the Havoc line a lot too. Pit boss, craw fatty, rocket craw, beat shad, bottom hoppers were all great for $3

Beetle Spins, Zoom Fat Albert grub, Arkie jigheads, and Yum baits. All a good value for the dollar

Oh man big bites baby creature( think baby brush hog) is $5 dollars for 25 and every bit as good as zoom. I use to use yum dingers a lot but they don't produce as well anymore. But still yum stuff is a bargain at $3.

Havoc pit bosses used to be a huge player for me...I don't like the powerboat version near as much.

Oh man the Cordell spot is my lipless of choice...especially gold black back. I caught my biggest of the year so far (pushing 7lbs) on a chrome blue back spot. How did I forget that one.

Anything zoom sells is a cheap allstar. Low price per quantity. Kind of like yamamoto I don't think zoom makes a bait that doesn't catch fish..just half the price and more durable. A trick worm is a magnet...one of the best fish catchers I've ever thrown..for me maybe even better than a senko style bait.

The Blakemore Rock'n Runner - their version of the bladed jig. They quit making them & I'm running out so I will have to fab my own. I even sent Jimmy Houston a message if he knew where any were because of his relationship with them. His response was "Not in your lifetime". So he's not giving them up either!

Zoom Trick worm.  Put it on a Sieberts Tungsten Shacky head and you're in business.  Missile baits are reasonably priced. Big Bite Baits 25 packs are money savers. YUM is also a real value.

Bandit 100 and yum 2.5” crawbug. Individually each of those have caught me more river smallies than all other lures I have used combined. Awesome baits!

Lots of contenders because I love cheap deals, but the Yum and Zoom lineups have to be at the top of the list. The 4" Yum Dinger is an absolute must for pond bass for me and has probably caught well into triple digits for me this year. The Zoom Z Craw and Z Craw Jr. is the Swiss army knife of soft plastics for me; it works great Texas rigged like a creature bait, also makes a great jig or chatterbait trailer. Zoom Trick worms, Super Flukes, brush hogs and brush hog jrs., finesse worms and Ol' Monsters are all staples for me, and none of them are more than $4 a bag.

I've said it before and I'll say it again zoom is my favorite soft bait company. They make a quality conversion of every bait at an affordable price..I could limit myself to zoom and be content if I had to

Anything YUM and BBB like has already been mentioned. Both offer bulk packs too so you can save even more there. Just got a 100pk of one of my favorite colors of Yomommas not long ago, around $40 shipped.
