Popular Post JediAmoeba Posted July 24, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 24, 2020 No really, of the boards I have been a part of in my life this one takes the cake for having the best membership. If you look online you can find some disgruntled people out there that have beefs with various members, but you will get that anywhere. You will find other forums almost dedicated to bashing companies, people or fishing things in general. Overall the members here are nothing but courteous, knowledgeable and willing to help a STRANGER out in need. Sure this place isn't perfect but things are mostly kept on point to keep the knowledge flowing that is our hobby. That is just awesome and something we need more of in the world. This site is provided by Glenn for free and has people freely giving up GREAT information based off topics, videos and questions, which in turn gets people from various fisheries and regions of the world adding notes that you can apply to the place you are fishing. It's truly amazing and if you don't think it is I dare you to read any one of the stickies in the tackle subforum in its entirety and tell me you didn't learn something new. I think....no, I know there are people here that have forgotten more knowledge on fishing than I will ever have. If I was going fishing in the south where they actually have big fish I would be browsing some of those subforums. ? One thing I have learned fishing is that the difference between the good fisherman and the average fisherman are vast and everyone has a different reason for taking part in tips activity - from pleasure and sport to necessity for food. Some people hold their secrets close to the vest and others share with the world. Regardless of your reasons anyone that ends up here is looking for information - whether they register and engage or just browse and learn this site has helped a lot of people get on more fish. I browsed this site for a good 15 years before registering...actually I may have registered a long time ago but I have no idea on the email. Lol. One of the reasons I never did was the level of knowledge from people here was amazing and I didn't feel I could add anything or share anything of value. I now know I was half right - Tina are catching all the big bass and I am over here mastering the art of catching 1 pounders on 50 dollar baits. So, HA! I have sold off most of my other hobbies and interests over the years and pretty much focus on fishing because it's something I truly enjoy and can pass on to others - especially my kids. I remember great times growing up fishing with family and I want my kids to have that. There are a lot of members here that go through things in life that are traumatic and they still come here to steal some time away and share information with us...that's truly commendable and I appreciate reading about all the cool stuff. No matter your interest in fishing there are topics and subforums to appeal to anyone. I especially like reading about old lures and techniques and seeing people getting new stuff! So I just want to say thanks to all the great people on this site - Yinz make it awesome! Tight lines everyone - Paul 32 5 Quote
Super User the reel ess Posted July 24, 2020 Super User Posted July 24, 2020 This is easily the best fishing message board out there. I used to be a member of 3, including Bill Dance's. It dwindled to the point you couldn't get an answer out of people. Now I'm only on this one. 4 Quote
Super User Columbia Craw Posted July 24, 2020 Super User Posted July 24, 2020 Here's the deal. People here are respectful, helpful, patient, mindful that not everyone has the experience or resources as others. Glenn didn't just create a format, he established a culture and has fostered it well. Getting on here is like taking a coffee break. 12 Quote
garroyo130 Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 Agreed, I've noticed the mods catch a lot of flak on other forums but thanks to them this isn't the cesspool some of the other forums are 1 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted July 24, 2020 Global Moderator Posted July 24, 2020 The amount of fishing info on here is off the charts. Ditto to what @JediAmoeba expressed 1 1 Quote
Black Hawk Basser Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 Here, here. Big props to Glenn, and the mods do a great job of keeping things in order. As much as we all differ, we can all come here and share stuff about our common passion. It's a cathartic experience for me. 5 Quote

You were referring to something much different. 5 Quote

TriStateBassin106 Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Bassresource isn't just a fishing forum anymore, it's a club! A club of brothers and sisters that help anyone and everyone become better anglers! I've only been a member here for a year and I absolutely love this place, ashamed many people my age (early 20s) who are new to our sport don't come on here! They rather watch clickbait sponsored videos on youtube! Bassresource is a family that I'm proud to be apart of! Definitely made me a better angler in the long run! 5 Quote
schplurg Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 This is the best bass fishing forum, period. I've looked around and nothing comes close. The amount of posts and the amount of good people. I feel like I know people here. The other forums are just text on a web page to me. Major props to Glenn for the content, and I also agree that he has set a certain vibe for us all, not just from moderating the forum, but also - well I just love watching his videos and listening to him. I love this place. Thank you, Glenn! And thanks Jedi for the thread. 3 Quote

Super User Darren. Posted July 25, 2020 Super User Posted July 25, 2020 Solidly spoken (ok, written, but I want an alliteration) sentiments state sincerity sincerely. Best fishing forum ever. Well said, all above, and the OP, @JediAmoeba! 2 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 25, 2020 Global Moderator Posted July 25, 2020 I've been on several forums, still pop into a couple more specialized ones on occasion. I got tired of the bickering and bullying on other sites. To me, this site, much like fishing itself, is supposed to be an escape as well as learn. Having differing opinions is just fine, trying to "shout" someone down or resort to name calling because they don't agree, is not. That's what I got tired of very quickly, and it isn't allowed here so that's why I settled down here. I hated how new people and beginners were often treated like idiots too. We were all beginners at one point and asked the silly questions. Talking down to them now just because a lot of us are no longer beginners isn't going to help them and isn't going to grow the sport. I have no doubt that I disagree with a lot of people on here on a lot of subjects, but the way it's kept fishing related and the hot button topics are kept off limits is great too. I get enough of the rest of it jammed down my throat everywhere else, I don't need it here, I just want to talk fishing with my online friends and forget about that stuff. 11 Quote
Super User NorthernBasser Posted July 25, 2020 Super User Posted July 25, 2020 100% agree. This place is great! 1 Quote
Super User geo g Posted July 25, 2020 Super User Posted July 25, 2020 I too agree this is a great site for sharing info, and lots of guys willing to share. All credit goes to Glenn and his team which don't tolerate much when the conversation starts getting out of hand. Thanks guys for keeping things tight. 1 Quote

Super User Mobasser Posted July 25, 2020 Super User Posted July 25, 2020 I don't belong to any other fishing sites. I see no need to. Every time I've asked a question, or started a new thread here, folks have always been helpful. There's a ton of good info on this site, and it's a great place to learn also. 4 Quote
Captain Phil Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Bass fishing brings people together. You can catch them off the bank or out of a fancy boat. Bass don't care if your skin is white, brown, black or whatever color God gave you. Bass don't care if you're a teenager, in your eighties or somewhere in between. Bass don't care what religion you are or how you vote. Bragging will not help you catch more fish. If you fish tournaments, it's what you put on the scales that matters. If you don't, you only have to please yourself. 4 Quote
