I’m thinking about adding another reel to the lineup, and to the shock of some of you yes I’m thinking about getting something besides Abu Garcia. I’ve heard good things about the Fuego casting reel, so I thought I’d pick your brains. What are your thoughts on the Daiwa Fuego reels, are there different versions of the Fuego? Thanks in advance!

I have 4 of the Fuego CT & 1 Fuego LT. I fish them 2-3 times a week, I haven't had any issues with them.

I have a couple of Fuego CTs and ill keep buying them if I see them on sale ($70 or less). IMO the best reel at its price point and one of the few reels to rival the cost:value ratio of the curado Es.

My fuegos arent as smooth as the Shimanos but something about them just feels right to me.

What’s the difference between the CT and LT?

I've got two CTs and they've been solid and smooth. The Magforce-Z system is much easier to 'set and forget' than the standard mag-brakes on my Supreme.

The LT is the spinning reel - don't know anything about an LT BC

I have a Fuego and Tatula CT which are the same reel. Both have been great. I also have SVs, chronarchs, curado, etc and the CT reels just feel like tanks. I use them on my frog and jig rods

Gave one to my granddaughter, she's now an experienced baitcaster in less than one season.  Good reel for the money.

North40.com has it for $79.99. Free shipping if you spend $100. Never heard of them but they seem legit

I've had a few and Amazon usually has the best price but I can't stand Amazon so I usually look elsewhere.  For less than 100 bucks they're hard to beat. Most likely will make you wonder why it took so long to buy one. Could easily be a 150+ dollar reel.  Shop around and find the beat deal and buy with confidence!

Thats a pretty sweet deal ... includes braid and a crankbait.

I don't know if there's a better value at retail price. Now obviously, if you get a $300 reel for $100 or something, it's a better deal, but I'd put the Fuego up against pretty much anything under $200, save for maybe the Curado and it's not far behind it. As someone else said, it's basically a Tatula without the TWS and Tatula is good enough that Daiwa sold the farm for it.

The fuego is a solid reel. For the money it would be hard to find anything better. I still prefer my Curado k, but the fuego is still solid and a great reel for the price point.

The fuego is by far the best sub $100 reel I’ve used.  I don’t know of any cons with this reel.

Where-as both my Fuegos, all three of my Pflueger BCs and three of my five spinners came from Amazon. Never had an issue with them, and any returns I've done have been processed quickly - usually get my money when UPS picks up the package at the drop-off site...no waiting until it reaches Amazon's return center.

It's hard to believe that a couple of years ago you could get the Fuego's on eBay for $50 - $55. I should have jumped on a few back then.

Where what? Didn't say anything other than I can't stand Amazon.  Never had an issue with using them just not a fan of theirs as a whole

That's probably where the misunderstanding came from. If I'm not a fan of a retailer...I won't purchase from them even if the prices are lower.

The best price is almost always eBay.  I have purchased Fuegos and Tatulas from TriceTackle and Alpha2Omega on eBay with excellent results.

I fish with some of the best offered by Daiwa. Zillion (orig), Ryoga.

My travel reels when I don't want to worry about anything, but gotta have performance and quality. Tatula, and Fuego. Only real difference between the two is the T-Wing; which I'm not a huge fan of. Both great but Fuego best for the money by a mile.

I have a couple and would have no problems buying more. They're excellent reels for the money.
