Had to afford the new one somehow ?.

Put my order in for the new Old Town Topwater 120 PDL today, supposed to arrive in September since they aren't out yet. Really looking forward to jumping into the world of pedal kayaks.

After fishing in a 10 foot aluminum boat a few weeks ago I will also be selling my yak - to help pay for a small boat. 14 feet or so. I like the extra space and freedom of movement. And screw paddles!

Old Town, Hobie, and Native make amazing kayaks.  I love my Predator.  You're gonna love the Topwater!

I can only speak to the pedal drive on that one, but I think it's was good as any besides the Hobie drive.  You'll be amazed at how easy 3 miles pass pedaling.  I think I've seen you posting about using power boats before, but if you're in a place where only kayak and canoes are allowed or feasible, the pedal drives really are game changers for propulsion and positioning purposes.

There's only a couple that are trolling motor or paddle only, but I fish a lot of lakes smaller than 200 acres and I fish by myself a lot. The only thing keeping me from fishing from the kayak I had more was fighting our constant wind was impossible a lot of days. I'm hoping with the pedal drive on this one I'll be able to use it a lot more so I can keep some of the miles off my bass boat when I'm just going to a little lake anyways.

This is a pedal kayak, should be minimal paddling. I'm hoping to get into some kayak tournaments too if my schedule ever settles down.

This is the one I have my eye on.  I have a Wilderness Systerm Ride 115 that I am going to sell this fall or spring.  The pedal drive looks great with the 5-year warranty.  So often you have that slight breeze where you don't want to anchor but you have to keep touching up with the paddle.  Those are the times I want the pedal drive for.  I was considering the Hobie under 2k but the fact that you can't pedal backwards is a deal breaker.  Hope you like it.  Please post a review in the future.

Ya I know, for me personally a small boat is just a better option, especially once we get into that price range. Yaks are fun but I need more space to move. And twisting around to grab my rods or tackle just gets old. Maybe I'm getting old before my time :)

I was starting to wonder if it was ever going to actually happen. Well it finally did on Friday.
