Has anyone ever used one of these?  They look interesting and am curious to hear any user opinions.

i'd go to a more reputable rod brand if you're going to be spending $200+ on a rod, just my personal opinion though!

I held one at gander and aside from the weight, it felt pretty decent. Definitely a nice looking rod. No clue how it fishes though. I just wonder how much cost is eaten up by the fancy packaging and blingy components. Is there anything left for a solid blank? I'd probably buy an M1 or Zodias if I wanted the carbon butt, but that's just me. I doubt this Emperor is a bad rod, but at that price point there are a lot of really good rods, so it's hard to justify the leap of faith.

Roland Martin seems to like them. If I’m not mistaken Phoenix rods has one that’s very similar with reviews on Tackle Tour. I’m digging the no wrap? finish on the butt end on the Phoenix. I believe it’s an M1 series.

Sorry Phenix rods.
