Bassfisher24 Posted July 20, 2020 Posted July 20, 2020 Unfortunately my scale was out of batteries so I wasn't able to weigh this big boy yesterday. Could anyone help me out and give a weight estimate? It's a smallmouth bass caught in Westchester, New York and I think it's easily over 20 inches. Quote
Steveo-1969 Posted July 20, 2020 Posted July 20, 2020 I'll give it a shot, but I'm terrible at guessing the weight of green bass and even worse with brown bass. And it's always very difficult with pictures, though you don't look to be long-arming it. 3.17 pounds Quote
Super User RoLo Posted July 20, 2020 Super User Posted July 20, 2020 I'd guess 3.8 lb x 18" Very nice bronzeback ? Roger Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted July 20, 2020 Super User Posted July 20, 2020 3lbs-7oz estimate. I agree with RoLo’s 18” length measurement. Nice smallie. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 21, 2020 Global Moderator Posted July 21, 2020 3.5-3.75 pounds. Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted July 21, 2020 Super User Posted July 21, 2020 I'd say 3 1/2 lbs, or close to it. 1 Quote
Super User soflabasser Posted August 7, 2020 Super User Posted August 7, 2020 Nice smallmouth bass. It should weigh somewhere around 3-4 pounds. Quote
Tatsu Dave Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Lotta good estimates on here, fisherman that have weighed more than a couple bass I agree he looks 3 - 3 1/2 lbs smallies are harder than largemouth's to estimate for me. Carry some spare batteries in the tackle box, you never need them till you really need them. NICE Fish! Quote
