Mat_ski Posted July 21, 2020 Posted July 21, 2020 Pop Max. Bass tend to avoid me when I have one tied, but if I retie a plopper, walking bait or even other poppers they typically cooperate if they are eating of the top. Quote

End up hurting my wrist after walking the dog for a couple casts. Was going to give up on chatterbaits, but after using the Jackhammer I was finally catching and catching a lot. I now never will use another model. Here's a secret. You don't have to walk them. I fish a couple of places with a lot of lilies and this is where I get all the bites. Just toss it on top of a mat and give it short jerks across it. Almost all of my bites come on the mat, not in the open water where you would be able to walk it. Of those bites I do get in open water, most come as soon as the bait hits the water. They will get a few bites in low light periods in open water, but near vegetation. But not many. I'll probably get some haters for that comment. But that's my experience. I do pretty well with the frog. Good advice on the Jackhammer. Quote

Another one for me. Not so much that they don't catch fish, although they're never as productive as they seem like they should be, they're just horribly boring to fish with. I still carry a few, but it's rare I use one. 1 Quote
