Hey all, I can plan on getting 4 whopper plopper 75s for my clear water lakes up north here. The smallies smash my poppers so these should have success. The problem is I have 5 options so if you could help remove one that probably isn’t necessary that would be appreciated.

- Perch

- Munky Butt

- I know it

- Bone

- Loon

Ones you think would work in stained waters as well are nice because I fish largies down south. Thanks for any help

I'm not a whopper plopper guy...that is to say I've never used one but I'm a huge topwater guy. For me the two colors you have to have are bone(white) and loon(black). Also being a northern guy I think you cant go wrong with perch since a lot of the northern fisheries lack shad but have tons of gills and yellow perch. So that leaves munky butt and I know it. Since you already have a white color and I know it looks to be a sexy shad white base I think I would choose munky butt if it was me. Gives them a different look. Also kinda has a trout look to it and if you have anywhere that stocks rainbows this could be a decent imitation of said stockers.

Come on now Lou, if you can get 4 then someway somehow you can get all 5 ? getting 4 would be like getting a classic hardback with the last 30 pages ripped out.

You’re overthinking it. Pick a light color and dark color and go fishing.

Drop perch?  If I could keep only one, it would be perch!

I would drop Bone or I Know It.

I have all colors, but bone and loon are used 99% of the time. the others are just hanging out in tackle storage.

bone is used when the sun is out. loon is used when overcast.

Yup, bone and loon should be all you need. No need to overthink it. Just throw it where they're at and figure out if they want it with pauses or straight retrieve.

Very well -- I blaspheme. Bone is fine, just never been convinced of Bone's universal superiority over anything else with a white belly.

So whats the advantage of Bone over just a solid white gloss color? Bone is a little more yellowish matte white inst it?

It has some red on the nose. It’s tail is translucent and has red on it as well.

As to the advantage, I don’t know. It is the most productive color for me by far.

If you're really set on getting 4 of those 5, I'd drop the "I Know It". Monkey butt is second to only bone in productivity for me. Perch is obvious given your location, and you need a dark color so there's Loon. That leaves I know it out of the mix.
