Have any of yinz tried these out?  I got a few packs(8) this off season to try out and I am thoroughly unimpressed.  They have been awful for me and rip really easy.  You are lucky to get 1 fish out of a bait and they don't stay on the jighead very well.  I would give them 1 star out of 5.

I always wonder why anyone would use anything other than  Z-man Ned stuff. It’s the best there is.

That is a bummer because I had really good luck with the bombshot on a ned head and it held up just fine to multiple largies. Would have expected that to be more delicate than the Ned bomb.

Because they don't play well with other baits, and IMO they aren't the best option. The Zinkerz is a very good bait and has a lot of action. The finesse TRD however is awful compared to the Zinkerz, barely any action, and it generally tears where the hook comes out. The Bombshot, Robo Ned, and Anglers choice original Wart hawg have all worked very well for me. I am also working a bit with the Missle baits 48, but not enough of a sample size to give thumbs up or down.

The better question is why are people stuck on Zman products? they have good marketing i will give them that.

Because the baits hold up well and come in much cheaper than others these days.

I use a lot of different baits but for ned fishing the zman baits work well.  I really like the big TRD on a 1/16 oz head and rarely lose fish.

I never understood why people find it so annoying. Just keep 2 bags worth in their original packaging. If you don’t lose your jig it will last for days of fish. Two bags may last you half a season.

I am stuck with 20-40 bags that will be used slowly over time, but they don't work well for my bank fishing system, and the hooks rust in the bag. I have made many hydro flow boxes out of mini planos for them. I gave them a good run and it just didn't work out well for me. I also do worry about trashing a bunch of other plastics too, so there is that.

The Big TRD has a similar action to the Zinkerz. Maybe my finesse TRDs are different, they were from around when they first came out, but they are super stiff and tear. Where as the zinkerz and big TRD seem to have a lot of movement and don't tear and last forever as long as I don't lose them on a snag.

In the boat I have like 3 rubbermaid shoe boxes with holes in the bottom to drain to hold rigged baits. Since I fish slider spider and ned heads with plastics, this works great for just tossing baits in and grabbing out what I need. On local waters when I go out for 2-3 hours I will only take these bins and just fish out of my prerigged stuff. Zman doesn't fit the system because I would have one giant mess.

Probably like some others on the site, I have collected enough plastics over the years that right now having ones that last forever don't help me clean some boxes out of the master closet lol.

Don't take them out of the original pack, pretty simple. I keep them in the original bags, never had any issue with them not playing well with other baits because of that. I've made some messes on my work bench, but those are all used baits that weren't quite ready to be tossed anyways, so not a big loss.

Zman and the 10,000 Fish Sukoshi bug are my Ned rig baits. Other baits work, but I don't have a need for them. The buoyancy of the Elaztech baits are a big part of why the Zman baits work, not just the durability.

Sorry for getting you folks worked up with me being a huge Zman fan originally to not using them at all for my own reasons I stated, specifically the the Finesse TRD and TRD Tubez being a huge disappointment. I would do a trade with someone but they would be too expensive to ship. So in the future I will keep my opinion to myself on Zman products.

I bought a single pack of the Missle Baits dropshot baits, and caught some fish (dinks) when I couldn't get the fish interested in a straight tailed Roboworm, my normal go-to dropshot bait.  These looked so similar, I thought they may be the ticket for Ned rigs too.  I guess not.  Which is good - the small Roboworm stickbait works well, but you go through a ton of them.  If you're looking for a non-TRD alternative, I use the Nikko ZaZa helgrammite.  It lasts 40 fish or so, and works well on river smallmouth.  The TRD works better for me about everywhere else.

I don’t care for their plastics either. Chatter bait is good tho!! Hand poured baits made from plastisol are buoyant and a lot cheaper than zman soft baits

I have yet to catch a fish on the Ned Bomb. It has been a disappointment for sure to me.

I've caught smallies on the Ned Bomb.  The whole NED deal has gotten out of control.  Every manufacture has the new best NED bait.  Okay.

+1 ... While I have tried other brands , most are lifeless and do not hold up as compared to the Z-Man TRD stuff . The longer you use a Z-Man TRD (or 1/2 a ZinkerZ ) -  the better it gets .

I agree. The only reason I bought the Ned Bomb was the tail. I was hoping that the action would equal more bites...

Anyone use the Missile Baits Ned Bomb as a dropshot bait? I was in the store this evening looking for some new dropshot baits and the Ned Bomb seemed like it might work well even though it's not marketed as a dropshot bait.

When it comes to true Ned baits, it's hard for me to use anything other than Zman just because of the buoyancy.

Was the best bed fishing bait for me this year. Added super glue to keep them from sliding down. Durability was better than average I would say. (For non Elaztech baits) Also caught a few fish fishing it on drop offs as I would standard TRD.  All on 1/10 oz Ned head. So I have been pretty impressed. But this was the first non TRD Ned bait I have tried.

I am pretty much sticking with Zman these days.

Love their stuff.

The other ned bait that has worked really well for me is X-zone's Ned Zone, but I would not pick it over a good ol' TRD.

Missile Baits make the Bomb Shot for Dropshotting. It’s basically a stretched out Ned Bomb.

It has worked really well on a Ned head for me as well. Would struggle to rig it on a head with a big keeper though.

*I would use the Z-Man  small TRD until they are used up ... For the TRD TubeZ , try taking off a tentacle or two off the TubeZ and it tends to give a bit more action (i.e. frees the action up a bit) .

That is my plan. If you caught my popular lure no longer used thread, in my first post I listed all my Zman baits, I am stocked up for life lol. Luckily I have a ton of Zinkerz so am set there. Always wanted the Zinkerz in bublegum, or creamsicle, which I created by mixing a bubblegum TRD with other colors by accident. The smallies crushed the creamsicle and I unfortunately can't make it happen again.

I use the ned bomb for dropshotting. Some lakes perfer it to the bomb shot. Hook up ratio isn't great though...

Considering i just lost 15 bags plus worth of z-man baits, im pretty irritated right now. All in their original package, in a tackle bag, in the boat, in storage, under a cover.... All melted. I'm not quite sure what i can do different but I'm pretty PO'd right now and not sure i want to replace them.
