Those are decent ones, but the best are Runcl, Sea Knight, Tempo, Sougayilng, Cadence, Yorten and Kalex.

Same for me for the most part. But pretty much a Shimano guy. This mom and pop shop is where I buy most of my reels from is stocked well with them. I've been way more than satisfied with the last few Abu Garcia reels over the last couples of years. I have them on Abu Rods and they pair up well.

I've used Shimano & Daiwa. I tried a Quantum once, it didn't last a season.

All shimano for me. Fished two quantum’s and hated them, 1 abu and it was okay but doesn’t feel as refined. Had 2 daiwa’s and they were great I just fell in love with my shimano casters and it’s all I have now. Really debating on trying some daiwa spinning reels though as I’m selling off two shimanos

Used to be all shimano.  Lately mostly lews with an okuma and 13 thrown in the mix

When I ran saltwater boats, my reel brands included Penn, Shimano, Daiwa, Pflueger

and Newell (Now defunct). Aside from Penn Internationals (bluewater specialty reels),

my favorite saltwater reel brand is Shimano, followed by Daiwa.

Reel brands I’ve used in freshwater include Mitchell, ABU Garcia, Shimano, Daiwa,

Shakepeare, Cardinal, Quantum~. Here as well, my favorite freshwater reel brand

is Shimano, followed by Daiwa (Shakespeare & Quantum on bottom).

In fairness, most of these are made by the same manufacturer as Okuma, 13, Lews, Abu, etc. Just a different sticker on the side.

I have used shakespeare, Abu Garcia, pflueger, Daiwa, and recently Shimano. Based on my experience so far with the Stradic FL and Curado K, I believe I am in the Shimano fan boy club.

I tend to like them all.  Each one has something I like.  I tend to get addicted to one brand, get bored, and move on.  Previously it was Abu Garcia, now it's Daiwa.  There's also some Penn and Pflueger in there as well.  Next will probably be Shimano.

Like Roger my generation was dominated by Penn International off shore reels and fresh water reels were Abu Garcia Ambassador casting reels and Abu Swedish made Cardinal spinning reels.

1990 marked a big change when Shimano came out with Tiagra off shore reels displacing Penn, then Shinamo came out with Talica lever drag displacing Penns Senator reels. Diawa came out with their Team Daiwa HTSA casting reels followed by Shimano Bantam, Calcutta and Curado casting reel ending ABU's dominance. Spinning reels Shimano Stratic became the top reel in the 90's

Today my favorite casting reels are Daiwa Tatula series reels and spinning is still Shimano Stratic.

I like Daiwa, but my favorites were the early gen Revo reels.

Most of my casting reels are shimanos.

I have 3 lews and 3 daiwas in the mix.

My spinning reels are pretty much half shimano and half daiwa.

I do have some older quantum spinning reels that i use for catfishing.

Johnny Morris (BPS) Carbonlite, Shimano and Pflueger. I've still have a couple of Pro Qualifiers in my arsenal.  My latest is the  Shimano SLX XT. Mostly Pflueger President for my spinning set ups.

Pflueger for spinning ...Abu for baitcasting. I have others but these dominate my inventory. Not saying these are the best...just what I like and use.

I prefer Daiwa rods and reels...my favorite reel is the Abu Garcia Skeet Reese reel....still have 4 of them stored in their boxes....

I have been a Shimano fan all my life.  I still prefer Shimano for off shore saltwater use but have switched over to Diawa for freshwater, and inshore.  Tatula CT. Coastal 200, Coastal SV and Diawa BG spinning reels.  I also have a couple plfueger spinning reels I like.  I believe Shimano's top of the line is still the best, but Diawa is better for the $100 to $200 dollar range.

I was a Lew's guy, but now my entire inventory is almost entirely converted to Daiwa.

Reads more like how many brands do you fish rather than what are your favorite brands.

Unless you are a guy like me that has never met a reel he didn't like.  :lol1:

Brands owned: Daiwa, Shimano, Abu (Revo, Ambassadeur and Morrum), BPS, Lew's, Pflueger, Pinnacle, Okuma, Quantum, 13 Fishing  EDIT: Penn spinning

Favorite brand: Daiwa.....but I have favorites in other brands:  Helios Air, Primmus Xi HS, Patriarch XT, Chronarch 100B, Curado 201E7, Excense DC, gold Carbonlite, Gen1 STX

To be determined:  Several that either haven't been used yet or used once or twice.
