Any boat in your price range will be a newer model. I would look for a boat that has a layout and features you desire, and just make sure the motor checks out.

Any well taken care of Ranger, BassCat or Pheonix in that price range should not have any issues. There are no "model" issues with any of those boats that are 2005 or newer that I am aware of.

Whats powering it is where you would be more likely to find something with issues. Stay away from the FICHT Evinrude motors, although, in that price range you probably won't be running into them.

Take your time

Get the BOAT you want - don't get distracted by electronics/trolling motors. Those things are easy to switch out and relatively cheap, but adding a foot to the boat, widening the deck, or changing the layout, not so easy.
