Super User DitchPanda Posted July 12, 2020 Super User Posted July 12, 2020 This is what I think of when I think traditional old school plastic worms. 20pk is only 2.99 on TW. Anybody still throwing these? I've got a lack in motor oil color...next order I'm gonna get a pack of grape. 5 1 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted July 12, 2020 Super User Posted July 12, 2020 They work great . Texas rig the tail down and eliminate line twist . 1 Quote
Super User RoLo Posted July 12, 2020 Super User Posted July 12, 2020 I fished with Phenom worms as soon as they were introduced. Any worm that was good 'once', will be good forever. Roger 3 Quote
Super User Catt Posted July 12, 2020 Super User Posted July 12, 2020 Why certainly! ? DO NOT under any circumstance throw the Mag 12!!! 1 Quote

Oddly, there was never a shipping order or any accompanying letter, and I didn't look a gift-horse in the mouth. Roger 5 Quote
Super User DitchPanda Posted July 13, 2020 Author Super User Posted July 13, 2020 There are some things that just work. A senko just works. A trick worm just works. And a 6 inch old school curl tail worm works. I remember my dad having boxes of a worm just like these growing up...heck probably was these. 20 good quality worms for 3 bucks is also incredible. Another thing I like about these and baits like them is I can guarantee and nobody at my local lake throwing em. 2 Quote

Phenom Worms, Super Lizards & Magnum SinSations have spent a lot time on the end of my line. 1 Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted July 13, 2020 Super User Posted July 13, 2020 Ive never used phenom worms, Ive never noticed them in any of the bait stores around here. These have been in my boat for 40 years now... 3 Quote

Super User Mobasser Posted July 13, 2020 Super User Posted July 13, 2020 Mr. Twister 6" Phenom is one of my old favourites. I like any purple/grape colors, and motor oil. Quote
Super User scaleface Posted July 13, 2020 Super User Posted July 13, 2020 Manns use to make an almost identical one called the Jelly Waggler . I use to buy those in packs of 100 . 2 Quote

craww Posted July 13, 2020 Posted July 13, 2020 Man those worms are special arent they? My grandfather’s favorite worm...He couldn't cast one more than 35-40’ w/that old baitcaster lol, but man did that old timer catch alot of bass on them... Just CREEPING that thing along the bank while sitting still as a statue. Like alot of baits I got away from, I need to throw them again. When rigged right theyre a good alternative to a shakeyhead around cover like vegetation and even wood. Maybe I’ll tie some on for the kids to drag. 2 Quote
Hook2Jaw Posted July 13, 2020 Posted July 13, 2020 20 worms for three dollars? I'm a big fan of catching bass, but an even bigger fan of catching bass reliably on cheap baits! I'll give them a go when I stock back up on worms! 3 Quote

Super User MIbassyaker Posted July 13, 2020 Super User Posted July 13, 2020 Yes! I use them mostly as jigworm. They are great on a vertical drop -- the curly tail slows the fall, but adds a lot of rapid movement at the same time. Pumpkin Pepper Perch Junebug Grape/Blue Flake, Pearl tail Red/Black Core Quote

A free-sliding sinker creates the illusion of a snake-like predator chasing a morsel, in this case the bullet sinker. Any element of competition triggers aggression in bass. Roger 3 Quote

If I fished heavy grass I might..but I don't so I don't peg! Feel like if I want a pegged bait I'll just use a jig of some sort. 1 Quote

You should get a pack...on the very unlikely chance you have them which you wont....your out 3 bucks. Can't even buy a beer at the bar for that. Quote
Finessegenics Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 Saw this thread so I decided to pick some up today. Mr Twister is a staple here thanks to the walleye guys so all their plastics are rather easy to find in our tackle shops. I still rarely hear of anyone using the phenom for bass though. I’m sure it’ll slay the smallies on the river. 1 Quote
