Ravox Posted July 11, 2020 Posted July 11, 2020 This week saw something that got my attention while fishing for Bass on one of the canals near my house, never understood the relation between the 2 species, until i saw how territorial the peacocks are. Got 2 Bass few minutes after that peacocks suddenly started to show up next to the bank, saw some bass close by, the pecocks started to chasing the bass like crazy to make sure they leave the area, it was funny to see the bass all afraid and the peacocks claiming their territory and weird to see big bass running from small peacocks. Never knew about that dominance peacocks had on bass.... and of course the bass bite totally stopped and I was frustrated that all I had was worms LOL, later I understood why the peacocks wanted that area besides the cover it was a shad paradise for them Quote
Luccon Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 Yeah they are super aggressive and non native so it kinda sucks they have taken over but at the same time they are really fun to fish. Lol 1 Quote
Super User geo g Posted July 29, 2020 Super User Posted July 29, 2020 Peacock are super aggressive, I once caught a two pound bass from the bank and could see a one pound peacock attacking the bass. The peacock hit the bass twice on the way in. They are aggressive and don't want them in their area at times. I have caught many peas and compared to a bass it's like comparing a pitbull to a poodle. Fun as hell to catch and hold on. We are lucky to have them in good numbers. 1 Quote
