I've felt flex on a baitcaster before but I frequently fish an old bill dance as-cheap-as-it-gets spinning reel gifted to me by my grandmother and I have never felt flex to any degree. You can feel the reel twisting at the stem while fighting a fish. Worst I've ever felt 1 Quote

I use mine quite a bit and I have not noticed it being crazy flexible..............yet. I am also in the market for another spinning reel or 2. I won’t be using these a lot. They will be mostly dedicated to smallmouth fishing on Mille Lacs and other smallmouth lakes. I only fish there 5 or 6 times per season. Even though I will only use these reels sparingly, I am going to upgrade to At least the Procyon, and maybe Tatula or Ballistic if I stay with Daiwa. I like a more rigid reel and better drag when fighting smallies. I may venture into another brand as well to compare. Probably Shimano or Lews. Open to suggestions though. Wonder if the heat has anything to do with it. Leave a reel exposed on the deck of your boat in the sun for an hour or two and it can build up some heat in the material, I would have to think this may make it a little softer, more pliable. Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted July 12, 2020 Super User Posted July 12, 2020 Every composite reel you can twist the neck if you try. Won't happen with aluminum or magnesium. Quote

I thought this for a minute as well but here in Ohio fishing in temps of over 100 sometimes is not uncommon and I think if this was an issue it would have shown itself early on. I started doing some research and it seems like this is actually a pretty common problem with these Fuego lt spinning reels. Cheaply made and over priced Quote
