ajschn06 Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 For those of you who have some experience in paddle tail swimbaits, are you having more success with jigheads or keel-weighted hooks? What's your preference and why? Extra points for your favorite model! Quote
zell_pop1 Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 Keel weighted hooks work great and pick up alot less weeds. I like the Damiki hook with the little clip that makes rigging them easy. Quote
Way north bass guy Posted July 10, 2020 Posted July 10, 2020 I don’t fish them in real thick weeds, but I’ve had great success with owner ballhead jigs in 1/4 and 3/8 oz with a 3.8 or 4.3 size Berkley Power Swimmer. So far this year I’ve caught a ton of nice smallmouth and big pike on them, and hookup % has been fantastic. Quote
Super User OkobojiEagle Posted July 10, 2020 Super User Posted July 10, 2020 Cover dictates whether I fish a swim bait on an exposed point jig head or Fin-Tech Title Shot head oe Quote
Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted July 10, 2020 Super User Posted July 10, 2020 Trokar if you want the sharpest hook it also very strong. Keitech fats fit great on them as well Quote
OnthePotomac Posted July 11, 2020 Posted July 11, 2020 I do well on either a 3/0, or 4/0 hook EWG Texas rigged (depending on the bait size) with a 1/8th, or 3/16 slip sinker in front, Quote
rtwvumtneer6 Posted July 11, 2020 Posted July 11, 2020 Buckeye Lures J-Will Swimbait Heads (also available weedless) does the job for me. Quote
