Quarry Man Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 My boat has a big leak somewhere. I checked the hull, no dents or cracks ins in any of the welds. I thought the leak was from the livewell being repaired wrong, but that didn't work. I put the boat in and when I take it out there's gallons of water coming out each time. I don't think there is a bilge pump in the boat. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted July 9, 2020 Super User Posted July 9, 2020 First thing I'd check was ensure that the boat plug is actually "plugging". A-Ja 1 Quote
Bolar Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 What kind of boat is it? You said the live well was recently repaired. Get a garden hose and fill the live well to make sure no leaks. If that's OK, take your jack and raise the front of the boat to it's max. Get a garden hose and put some water in the back of the boat. Look for where the water comes out. Quote
Hower08 Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 My vote is on bad plug. I replace mine yearly. I see alot of people over tighten them which seems to compromise their ability to stay sealed Quote

camman Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 Yup I'd fill the boat up with water and see if you can find the leak. I had an old aluminum which had the same issue. What was interesting is that it depended on how much I ran the big motor would drive how much water I would get in the boat. If I ran the trolling motor it would be relatively dry...I think it was the vibration/bouncing around would cause more water to leak in. Once I found it and sealed it, it was dry. Quote
