George_anthony Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 Just ordered a new reel and was thinking about picking up some of the Yo-Zuri hybrid line for it. Most of the reviews of it are pretty good just wanting some more opinions on it thanks for any comments in advance. Quote
Mr Swim Jig Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 It is great for spinning reels, for a bait caster I would go with Yo-Zuri Hybrid.... 1 Quote
Super User WRB Posted July 8, 2020 Super User Posted July 8, 2020 If you select Yo-Zuri Hybrid by diameter and not lb test it a good line for it's price point. Spinning reels YZH 6 lb test /.010 D should be max. Compare Sunline Sniper 10 lb test /.010 D. Tom 3 1 Quote

Whatever you decide make sure to get some KVD Line and lure conditioner as it helps immensely 2 1 Quote
Super User BrianMDTX Posted July 8, 2020 Super User Posted July 8, 2020 I have 8 lb on spinning reels and 12 lb on baitcasters. I do use KVD. So far, no knot failures (easy to tie). Casts well. Have used it as a leader on braid as well. 1 1 Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted July 8, 2020 Super User Posted July 8, 2020 I have 4# on my Ultra-light, 10# on my Trion-35 and 12# on two of my baitcasters. KVD makes all the difference and I've yet to have issues with line management or knot-failure. 1 Quote
TBAG Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 I've been using 6lb on my spinning setups for a few years now and really like it! It's cheap, strong and casts awesome. I recently tried 10lb on a crankbait setup (baitcaster) after seeing tons of recommendations. I'm actually a little disappointed in it, very poor memory even with using KVD L&L. 1 Quote
Super User RoLo Posted July 8, 2020 Super User Posted July 8, 2020 Yo-Zuri Hybrid is a line held in high esteem by many anglers. You didn't specify 'casting' or 'spinning', so I'd offer one caveat. Owing to its fluorocarbon content, Yo-Zuri Hybrid has a memory like an elephant, a line that I wouldn't recommend with spinning tackle. Roger 1 Quote

Super User Cgolf Posted July 8, 2020 Super User Posted July 8, 2020 I have used 10 lb Yo-zuri hybrid on a baitcaster and it worked fine for what it is, but I find myself not using the reel as much because I lose so much feel vs braid with a short Fluoro leader. I was fishing it on a 15 year old cabelas prodigy rod, so maybe folks that use higher end rods won't notice as much of a difference. Where I see a use for it for me is deep cranking where feel doesn't come into play as much. 1 Quote
Super User MickD Posted July 8, 2020 Super User Posted July 8, 2020 Used to use it on a casting rod, 12 pound test if I remember correctly. Cast well, very stretchy. I think there are better choices, all with no FC in them. Quote
BigAngus752 Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 I use only two different lines on my baitcasters, braid and Yo-Zuri Hybrid. I highly recommend it along with KVD Line and Lure. I have tried Yo-Zuri Hybrid on two spinning reels. I do NOT recommend it on a spinning reel. 1 Quote

K1500 Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 I use 12# on almost all my baitcasting reels with no complaints. Quote
