Hi,

Being bank angler, I always need to carry so much tackle with me always, I am in search of largest tackle bagpack, Currently using Gamakatsu Tackle Storage Backpack: https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Gamakatsu_Tackle_Storage_Backpack/descpage-GDBB.html

BUT, it is small for me with the amount of tackle I have, specialy now I am more in soft plastics and carry tons of them, don't get me wrong I put multi color in one bag, for example 4 colors of 5" Senko each one 2 of them so bag of 8, But still need more space.

I was researching and I got to this flambeau that large enough and high quality to carry around:

https://www.flambeauoutdoors.com/Fishing/Soft-Storage/Portage-Series/portage-pack-backpack-tackle-bag

Do you guys know something bigger(taller), so I can fit more tackles in?

What’s your budget? I think the biggest tackle bag is the Shimano Blackmoon. There is a compact size and a medium size (which is just the regular size). I own the medium. I feel like it’s one of the best investments I’ve made. There are so many pouches and convenient compartments, I recommend it to every co-angler I meet. I can carry 4 3600 trays (it comes with the 4), two spools of line, easily 15 bags of soft plastics in the big compartment on top, all the tools you can imagine and more. Only issue is it’ll set you back 150$...imo that’s insanely expensive but I got a decent deal on it. I still don’t regret it one bit. Bag has held up through a full season and a half of bank fishing & co-angling. Watch the video below, it gives a nice rundown of the bag and it’s compartments.

What I learned over time is that certain lure types and colors work better than others and when I did, it helped to reduce the amount tackle I really “needed” to be effective.

I too am a shore angler and that flambeau bag looks very impressive. I have a lesser model flambeau backpack over a decade ago for $10.
I also have a small BASS bag I’ve been using for years.

I recently bought a small okeechobi bag from Walmart.

my backpack holds the plastic boxes and the smaller bags the soft plastics and I only take what I think I need.

I really like that flambeau you posted and that Shimano bag. I’d probably choose one of those two to have one bag to carry it all, and in the darkness, bind them. ?

I have the Academy H2O express version of this

https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/wild-river®-tackle-tek™-nomad-mossy-oak-camo-lighted-fishing-backpack#repChildCatid=3214010

which apparently they dont make anymore. I picked it up for about $50 but once you get up to about 6 - 3600s you start to question your decision making ability.

If you are using the bag to transport tackle to an area, I highly recommend a tackle bag vs backpack. This is what im currently using.

If you plan on wearing the bag while fishing then backpack 100%

I use the Plano A-Series 2.0 Tackle Backpack. It holds five 3600 boxes plus on the inside has a large, zippered compartment where I have at least 10 bags of soft plastics, a scale, fishing tool, a bottle or two of water, a spinnerbait box, and a bunch of other stuff. There are also snap compartments on each side and one in the back.

You can lay the boxes flat or stand them on end. There's enough room on the inside section to add another 3600 box.

It holds so much stuff that it was getting too heavy for me so I cut down to 4 boxes and took some soft plastics out of my bag. I've had it for three years now and done a ton of fishing with it. So far it has more than held up to the task.

It costs about $80 but I bought it on sale at Dick's for $49. It would still be a great value at $80.

I have Albacore back pack tackle bag that hold 5 Plano 3700 boxes, top storage area 4"X 9" x14" plus a insulated lunch box 4"X 9" X12" that is Velcro held on top.

I use this bag for my jig box or when tournament fishing in another boat.

Take a look on line, don't believe Albacore is availble anymore. If interested PM.

Read the re views on the flambeau bag, not very good from the sounds of it.

I strictly am on the banks as well. Here is everything in my TW backpack. It's super sturdy, lots of space. I took out the plastic soft plastic binder holders in the top compartment. Fit more this way. Also fit my snips, scale, pliers, and such in the outter pockets and from not shown here. Have 2 3700 boxes in the main compartment

Almost 30 bags soft plastics and many are 2 colors in a bag. The clam shells are great they wont bleed. Some brands and storage need be careful though.

Picked up one of these a few months back

https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-extreme-qualifier-360-backpack-or-system

Bottom compartment holds 4 3600 trays, in the upper compartment I keep a 5th and about 20 bags of soft plastics. Have a few spools of leader line, pliers, scale, fish grips, braid cutters, sun gloves, face shield, and a towel. Holds it all very well. It's not the most comfortable bag out there but I don't know if you'll find one better made with as much storage anywhere else for that price.

Nice organizing, In my case is not only carrying at bank while fishing, but to keep them all(most of them for season), in my car and home, to get and jump in car and drive, I fish 250 days of year(at least), so I need something really roomy and man that backpack is a truckload of tackle, I. just hope ill tear the shoulders or handles. I am so happy with it and fits my lifestyle.

I am trying to loose some led weights to help lighting it up. another advantage of me new backpack is I can fit my swimsuits in 5000 size deep boxes.

Thanks, been trying to get mixing it up and rearranging to fit everything I could possibly need lol. Thinking moving to the jig EDGE box over the 3700

I have a Cabelas one that is the biggest tackle bag I have ever seen. Good news is it will hold as much tackle as you could ever want. Bad news is you will not be able to carry it from the weight. This thing looks like a hocky bad and you could easily fit a midget in it. Came with like 15 3700 Plano boxes inside it and there was still room.

Does it need to be fishing specific? Buy a big backpack and fill it up?

yes here in SoCal, when I am going out and I need to have everything ready from rainbow trout to bass to striper to catfish, bait and wait and active fishing with 8 set ups at the bank for 24 hours, yes I need that :)
