Super User webertime Posted July 9, 2020 Super User Posted July 9, 2020 Don't bother with any topwater. Heavy ds weights Pay attention to what the dams down river are doing. 1 Quote
Super User RoLo Posted July 9, 2020 Super User Posted July 9, 2020 I'm envious ? We came very close to going there the end of July, but the pandemic skewed our plans (temporarily). 19 minutes ago, webertime said: Pay attention to what the dams down river are doing. Good advise, for that matter, even a passing ocean liner ? Roger 1 Quote
Jleebesaw Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 The last time i was there was 2 weekends ago. I went to waddington. At the time the watsr temp was low 70's and they were still on beds. We got them on football jigs mostly. A shallow crank got a few. And opposing what someone else said, we got 5 or 6 on super spook junior topwater lures early in the morning. My fishing partner launched from chippawa bay monday night and was getting them on dropshots using strike king flat worms in the goby color. I basically never go to the river without dropshot gear and lipless cranks. I try using brown and green colors for worms. Trying to look like gobies. And i have a rat-l-trap that looks like a rock bass that gets hammered on the river. A friend of mines pb smallie. He hasnt chased smallies much. 1 Quote
