dman Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 ....I have a chance to get a newer fish finder with GPS (Lowrance 522c) for a pretty good price but i'm not sure how they work.....I only go on semi-small lakes and ponds with my boat but i would like to be able to mark spots....Do i need to buy cards or something that has those waters listed on them for GPS to work? Super User Long Mike Posted March 25, 2009 Super User Posted March 25, 2009 Go to www.lowrance.com. The site has a great GPS and a great sonar tutorial. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted March 25, 2009 Super User Posted March 25, 2009 No need to purchase an additional card. They come preloaded. The only reason you would want a card like Navionics is if you are interested in a more detailed map with depth contours. Quote
