Plano EDGE is the best fishing investment we've made in a long time. We've tried a few competitors, but this is what we'll be purchasing from now on!

While I love the jig/bladed jig box, nothing has come close to replacing the Plano 4700 double deck box I use for plastics  (I have quite a few of these) or the sub 10$ Plano deep 3700 for cranks. Love the brand, just not the overpriced boxes, won't buy bass mafia either, more of a budget guy.

I have the edge terminal box.  It does a great job of keeping everything in it's place.  I've read positive comments on Academy Sports version but haven't seen one yet.

Love the EDGE Series. Only thing I wish they made was a half Jig/bladed Jig Box. I Walk banks so space is limited. I would love a half jig box and half regular 3700. That would be ideal. Also I had a Bass Mafia Tungsten Coffin, cut off the bottom, and sanded down the sides. Fits in perfect now . Just a little tip if you are using the regular 3700 for Terminal Tackle like me

Did just see on FB that they are offering a 3500 size and a 3600 terminal box now. Maybe a 3600 jig box is in the works. The two new offers should make some happy that we’re looking for smaller boxes. Will be curious on price.

Oh gosh I’ve been waiting on a 3600 terminal. Very sweet.

I'm sure the Edge terminal box is awesome. I'm at a point where every buck saved makes a difference, so I got the Academy terminal box. I have to say that I'm really impressed by it. It has some nifty features like the foam inserts for weights, but the biggest thing to me is that when the lid is closed it really seals down. So I don't find hooks or weights that have migrated to the wrong compartment like I constantly did with a regular 3700.

What size is the academy terminal box? Is it 3600 size?

Actually a hair bigger than a 3700, 3700 is 8.8" x 14", the Academy terminal tackle box is 9.5" x 15".

I hope you're right. I have some of the standard 3600 Edge boxes but I've been wanting a smaller version of that jig box since I first seen it. Wether I have my backpack or kayaking the 3600 size is just more practical for me. Problem is nobody makes a line of specialty boxes in that size yet.

If you search Plano Fishing on FB, you will see it. The only thing that gives me pause is it oddly only has 2950 likes. Based on all the Edge box stuff posted there it looks legit.

Agreed! We need a 3600 jig box please!

I would love to see a good 3600 thin. I use the Plano 3601 quite a bit but they aren’t the most robust boxes. I like the 3600 Plano dry loc seal, but there’s some wasted space in that box and the dividers aren’t the most customizable. Excited to see what’s new from Plano.

In the Edge series, they are introducing the 3500, 3600 terminal, and Flex series (3600 & 3700), plus Edge terminal retainers for 3500, 3600, and 3700 thin.

In addition, they also have the Rustrictor series at a lower price point than the Edge series, but still have the rust inhibitor characteristics.

I have the jig box and LOVE it. Has taken a little while to figure out how to get all my jigs in there both securely and without really messing up the brush guards though.

Have spinnerbait box as well and its a great product but is significantly larger ("taller") than it needs to be.. even with trailers I feel like most of my wire baits are hanging several inches above the bottom of the box. I imagine there are definitely better options for spinnerbait boxes than the EDGE but I'm happy enough with mine. Plus it doesn't really "fit" with either 3600 or 3700 size boxes

Finally I also have 2 3600 sizes for my creek bag. The water wicks are definitely a life saver for the creek bag because I tend to switch out a few lures and never really revisit it.

Would love if they cut the price down just a bit though.

I like mine the only complaint I have is the 3700 standard holds considerably less tackle then my 3700 bass mafia box.

So I attended an ICAST conference today with Kevin VanDam and the product managers at Plano, and asked them if they had any plans to make such a box.  And frankly, they hadn't thought of it before.

This was news to them, and a great idea. It was well-received, and they're going to look into it further.  So who knows? If they come out with it, it's because you man!

Sure it wouldn't be hard to make an insert for the Flex series that can fill half the box with the jig/bladed jig holders. I bet they come up with a lot of cool stuff in the future for those.

Wow that's really cool,  thanks for bringing it up! But It would be both of us, you brought it to their attention haha . I actually sent an email to Plano on their website as well like a month ago and never got a response.

Fingers crossed it happens though

So if I one had ideas for boxes they would like to see, how would we normally pass the ideas on to them?

Hopefully my replies get merged. I would love the inner dimensions of these boxes to see if I could make my idea fly. I may need to pick one up when they come out as long as the price isn't too wild lol.

I bought one the other day.  Here is a pic of me loading it up.  So far I really like it and how it holds the jig.  I also added some fogy baits but not in the pic.

The only minor complaint is it seems a touch too short, need to work to keep some brush guards from getting compressed, otherwise it is pretty much perfect.

On mine, most of the brush guards do not touch the lid, or just barely touch it.  The jig box IS a little bit taller than the terminal and thin boxes.

Maybe I just need to trim them up a little. I have never been one to trim the brush guards, maybe this is the sign I need too.
