Ksam1234 Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 Soo I haven’t been around for awhile now and haven’t been as active as we found out my father had a brain tumor. I have been doing my best to help and take care of him while he needed it and wasn’t fishing or doing much with everything going on. My dad is recovering now and seems to be doing ok! So I will continue to help and pray for recovery to go smooth. Now! Finally back to fishing. I will be going out to Lake Erie later in the day and was wondering how deep would a bass be to hit topwater ? I have never tried topwater fishing on Lake Erie before thinking it was too deep for a bass to commit to. Water clarity is really good, my buddy was out and saying he could see bottom in 12-15 FOW , would a bass come up from let’s say 20 feet to hit a topwater ? I hope to show off some pics of giant smallies later tonight. I am itching for a tug on the other line as it’s been so long. 4 Quote
Super User Spankey Posted July 6, 2020 Super User Posted July 6, 2020 God bless you and your family. Glad to see your dad is bouncing back. This has been a crazy year. Can’t comment on Erie. I’d be ready to throw it all to catch them. Good fishing, best wishes to your dad and family. 1 Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted July 6, 2020 Super User Posted July 6, 2020 Good to hear your Dad is mending. Hope that continues. As for topwater on Lake Erie in July, don't hear about many anglers having success with it, but you never know I guess. Either way, bring at least one drop shot rig. FishinBuck07 Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 Will be praying for your father and your family! Never fun watching your parent go through something like that, been there done that. Hopefully he continues to recover and get back to being himself! 1 Quote

Super User NHBull Posted July 6, 2020 Super User Posted July 6, 2020 Glad to hear your dads doing good. Most reports from my area are 20-25 FOW and chomping on craws. My morning reflected the same. My partner did get one to come up from 9 foot, but that was it. A dozen came in 10 feet deeper and NEKO for the win 1 Quote

Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted July 6, 2020 Global Moderator Posted July 6, 2020 Glad to hear your old man is doing better. On @BassNJake’s home water, I regularly have fish come up 20 ft to hit a spook. But these are open water fish suspended in up to 100 ft of water 1 Quote
