went to my cousins wedding with my mom in her fancy car today, dash reading 90 degrees at 8 pm

A cold front came through,  it’s now 78 with 90 humidity, and 75 on the dew point. I’m not sure how you southern boys resignate the humidity but but anything above 60 is sticky for us northern boys. Thankfully there’s a breeze.

Tournament tomorrow. Weather forecast: 105 degrees.

I caught my first 10 pounder a few years ago, when it was 106 at 2:00 p.m.

 

I’ve gone ice fishing when it was -40. I’ll take 100 any day.

Hahaha! Yeah me too! Coldest I’ve felt was like -15 with wind and that was not something I could fish in.  Sweating through my shorts isn’t so bad compared to that

My girlfriend and some of our friends went boating and swimming a few days ago during a camping trip. We got way off shore and took a dip. Some of the water was unbearably hot. Almost felt like it was boiling. We didn't know how deep we were but nobody could swim to the bottom, just gave up for safety after about 10 feet. This is in Indiana. I don't think I've felt lake water so hot before.

That is wild! I envy you Tennessee River guys. I know the fishing is good in most of your part of the world but I had no idea that the river itself stayed that cool during the summer. Our rivers here in Eastern KY hit 85+ Pretty quick with the exception of one. It’s a good thing I don’t live down there. First off I could never see myself wearing that ugly orange color ?, second I’d never do anything but fish. Lol

It’s really only the downtown Knox area that stays that cold or directly below any of the other dams . Downtown Knoxville is Cold fast water coming out of Cherokee and Douglas dams. The water coming out of Norris dam can be 50 degrees when the air is 100 degrees. Conversely the water coming INTO Norris lake on the clinch river is in the mid 80s

I've lived in TN now for the last 9 years.

Not one summer has been worse than any I experienced living in Ohio.

 

The humidity is the killer for me.

I dont miss the days where it was 90 during the day and 85 at night.

My fiancé’s parents are reporting upper 90s from extreme northwest Ohio and they get it every year. That only happens once or twice a decade around here, and of course they get a lot of -15 and -20 in the winter with the wind blowing

Wait a minute.....you only get 90’s or upper 90’s? What about humidity? Once the dew point gets above 65 it gets real sticky. I’m not meteorologist, so I don’t know about humidity and dew point, and how they affect each other. Example today was 81 and dew point was 57 and it was absolutely perfect. Yesterday it was 84-86 dew point about the same and again, perfect. I can handle that kind of weather.

I'll be on the water tonight from 11 pm to 4 or 5 am. According to my truck it's to hot to fish in the daylight.

I would say a more common temp in the summer in East Tn is 86-88. We have nineties some but not the norm. Humidity I’m guessing is maximum all the time haha, I never check that. It’s a rainforest, feels like a lead blanket. Late august and September are the worst

Yeah. All the weather forecasts here are just like "Humidity: Yes."
