BassNJake Posted July 10, 2020 Posted July 10, 2020 What happened with Wheeler? I saw him riding in a truck while other guys were fishing. Quote
BoatSquirrel Posted July 10, 2020 Author Posted July 10, 2020 Wheeler must be headed to the Evinrude support trailer! Happy to see JLucas wacking em. That man is due! Quote

Anglers are allowed to trailer anywhere during this derby. KVD made a re-location move during period one. It's a weather safety thing but guys can also use it to find new fish. A-Jay 1 Quote

The south end is the lake side and the north end the bay side. The canal is kind of L shaped. Dont remember who is fishing by the ship builder, but that is wher the canal bends. If you go on Google maps, and zoom in on the south end of the canal there is a landmark called John Bonetti Rock. Thats where Suggs is at. On the north side, Lucas is in between Pinney County Park and Cabot point. 1 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted July 10, 2020 Super User Posted July 10, 2020 With 20 minutes left in period 2, KVD has one 2 lb bass. WTH ? A-Jay Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted July 10, 2020 Super User Posted July 10, 2020 This looks more like the final tournament totals vs after just 5 hours of fishing ! And as a friendly reminder to us all, Brown Bass eat a drop shot - HARD A-Jay 1 Quote

I was on the Lake Michigan side sight seeing but not to fish. The weights are insane! Quote

The past few years most of the older guys have been slipping. Sadly the greats all run out of steam at some point. I feel that the year kvd didn't make it to the classic a few years back is when he started steadily declining on tournament performance, it does something mentally to a man that has made it there so many times 1 Quote
Tlauz Posted July 11, 2020 Posted July 11, 2020 ? Ike landing that fish. That is what I look like landing most smallmouth except I use a net. Still takes me 4 or 5 tries. Anyone who has never fished smallmouth needs to do it at least once. The fight at the boat and some of the jumps are incredible. I don't fish trophy water so can't even imagine what a 6 pounder would be like. Although, I have watched A-Jay catch a few. ? 2 Quote

Super User Tennessee Boy Posted July 12, 2020 Super User Posted July 12, 2020 Every time I look at the results of a professional tournament I always check the top and the bottom results. The top shows me what’s possible. The bottom makes me feel better about some of my outings. This tournament has been particularly interesting in that regard. 2 Quote
