I fish only "OWNNER HOOKS".  Use for all my plastics and cange to "OWNER" trebles on my lures.  I catch my share of fish.  Always sharp.  State of the art hooks.

The thing I like about Owner over Gamakatsu is that the point on an Owner (at least the 5102) is so much bigger and stronger.  The point on a Gamakatsu will roll over after a fish or five.  The Owner Cutting Point never deforms.

I've still got some Gamakatsu offset shank EWG's in my box that I will use on occasion.  But for the most part, the only Gamakatsu hook I'm fishing anymore is the Superline EWG.  The point still rolls a bit, but not as badly as the regular offset shank EWG.

Owners are more expensive, but the extra cost is worth it.

I sat in bass pro for 15 minutes stabbing my finger with different hooks to do a sharp comparison.  Not very scientific, but Owner won.  I might have been swayed thinking that the Owner name was more a more American name than Gamagatsu, but I later found out it's not.

I still use almost exclusively Owner and have confidence in them.  Many stores don't carry a full line of Owner so I have to supplement with Gamagatsu EWG.

I got to try out some owner hooks today. I must say they are excellent, I had way more hookups and used the same hook all day long. Caught about 30 fish on the same hook and I would say 80 percent of them were all hoooked in the same place ( side of the cheek) and it never dulled one bit. I know i will be buying some in the future when i run out of these.

One question though, Why can you buy owner hooks cheaper at BPS or cabelas rather than straight from Owner?  That makes no sence to me. lol

I used to be a member of the Gammy posse, until I tried Owner hooks. They are all I use now, the point is so much stronger and sharper. And if you need some concrete proof take a standard 1/0 gamakatsu offset worm hook and an Owner 1/0 offset worm hook, grab the shank of the gammy and pull on it, you will see how easy it is to bend these things out of shape. Now take the owner and do the same, the thing won't budge, I don't know about yall but I want a hook that can take a solid hookset.

Not to be an ole stick-in-the-mud, I'll give 'em a try.

However, I have been using Gamakatsu for a number of years without any issues.

Some time ago I discovered X-Points which I REALLY like, too.

We'll see... 8-)
