Elmwood Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 I'm sure this has been discussed many times but appreciate any help from the forum. We're a family of 4 (2 small kids, 2 Adults) looking for a somewhat versatile boat for use between fishing and probably some light tubing (planning to opt for the 115). Occasionally would have another person on the boat (very few times) so wanted to get something that was at least rated for more than 4 people. I'm looking at new vs used just because right now it is hard to find something used at a reasonable price. Here is what we are considering: - Lowe FM1775 SC or WT - Tracker Pro Guide V-175 SC or WT - Tracker Pro Guide V-175 WT Combo All of the boats seem pretty comparable as far as price. The exception is the combo which more expensive with the standard options of the foldable seats, etc. My questions are: - Is there any noticeable rating difference between Lowe and Tracker? - I want to be able to fit in my garage, I have plenty of depth and width. My problem is a standard garage door height of 7'. The Tracker storage height is 7'3" due to the windshield. Not sure of the Lowe? - SC vs. WT? Seems like the SC would have more room since it doesn't have the 2nd console. I wasn't sure how big of a deal the 2nd console is when trying to fish with kids (casting, moving around, etc.)? Thanks in advance for any help. Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted July 1, 2020 Super User Posted July 1, 2020 If the combo is in the budget it will be worth it when you're using the boat for towing tubes, etc. I have a 20ft Starcraft with a 115 and the family loves the separation the walk through windshield offers compared to a single console. Much more family friendly and there's still plenty of room up front while I'm fishing and folding the back row of seats down gives a nice back deck for whoever I bring along with me. That said, your garage height limitation complicates things and you're not going to lose with any of those options you mentioned. Quote
Elmwood Posted July 1, 2020 Author Posted July 1, 2020 Thanks for the feedback and exactly what I was looking for. Just found out the Lowe 1775 WT has a storage height of ~79 inches so it should fit through the garage door. I can get the back row seats and fold down as you mentioned. So I think that will be the one. Quote
