PABassFish007 Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 Hey everyone - I'm trying to learn how to be successful at using a drop shot and am looking for some help. I have my Medium Light setup with a 1/4 ounce cylinder weight, 2/0 hook, and have plenty of small drop shot baits. My question is, I do not have the best graphs, and am wondering how to be successful without upgrading the graphs. Do I just toss is out and slowly reel/drag it back? Should I be using it predominantly on weed lines or ledges? Any helps appreciated !! Quote
Fishin' Fool Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 If you fish Lk Erie at all drift and drag works well out there. Personally I think a 2/0 hook is more than you need. I use a size 1 hook and nose hook my baits. Quote
Super User RoLo Posted June 28, 2020 Super User Posted June 28, 2020 It seems that you're asking about Location and Presentation, which is a pretty tall order ? When it comes to 'location', there's no shortcut. Aside from the angler's gray matter, the most important tools are the 'lake card' and 'sonar unit'. Before I'd wet a line, I'd purchase the best lake card available (bathymetric chip) with the highest definition. I'd also learn to decipher the sonar readings, both from literature and on the water.
