Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted June 26, 2020 Global Moderator Posted June 26, 2020 Looks like wheeler just ran away with the FLW on his home lake. He had a 9.9 lb yesterday and just got a 7.89 on a DT20. His unofficial 4 day weight is hovering around 94 lbs 4 Quote
BassNJake Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 Yeah, that guy is gonna win a bunch more money. He just keeps getting better and better. 3 Quote
flatcreek Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 Wheeler is a fishing machine. He can find em anywhere 2 Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted June 27, 2020 Global Moderator Posted June 27, 2020 Not only can he find them, he can adapt to any format he’s fishing. Bottom line, Jacob Wheeler will be the greatest angler of all time! He may not have all the accolades of a KVD or a Rick Clunn because of the format changes (maybe this will be the new normal) but he will have won more money and more trophies than any out there. The guy is a strait up fishing machine and loves ever minute of it! 2 Quote
GReb Posted June 27, 2020 Posted June 27, 2020 What Wheeler and JLee have accomplished before their 30th birthday is pretty amazing. DeFoe is under 35. Those 3 still have many years of fishing in their tank and will go on to win many trophies. But make no mistakes there will be younger anglers coming up that challenge and beat them. Resources and electronics are so advanced today that these kids turning pro at 21 are way ahead of the game 1 Quote
Lobocito Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 Watching Wheeler fish was one of the main things that motivated me to want to go buy a bass boat. The dude is simply an amazing fisherman and an awesome entertainer. And no doubt that he is out there grinding his butt off every single day for every oen of those fish he catches. 1 Quote
Tlauz Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 Jordan Lee and Wheeler are on great runs the last few years. Both are incredible. 1 Quote
Rpratt Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 I think it's way too early to declare Wheeler in the same breath as KVD and all the other giants of the sport this early in their respective careers, however he has had a tremendous start. It would be comparable to saying Tiger Woods was as good as Jack Nicholas after winning 4 or 5 tournaments. The field is very talented and could easily keep him from winning for long stretches at a time. But I will say he is fun to watch and it is amazing how much he has achieved already for his age. 1 Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted June 30, 2020 Global Moderator Posted June 30, 2020 This is what sets Wheelers apart from everyone else, he thinks about every aspect, every detail of his fishing, including the wrap on his boat! Chalk another win up for this guy. 2 Quote

Makes me think about the "flotillas" that used to follow KVD, Ike and a few others all around the lake during the big derbies back in the day. Going Stealth was really a Good Idea, but may be a one & done kind of thing now. At least he got the most out of it - to the tune of $125K also - nice 'Trophy Room' my word. A-Jay 3 Quote
ReedFish Posted July 1, 2020 Posted July 1, 2020 Reminds me a lot of when KVD had his decade...although Wheeler hasn't had a decade yet, I don't see him slowing down at all. Very fun to watch and love his candid remarks on film. Quote
jtharris3 Posted July 1, 2020 Posted July 1, 2020 Wheeler has it going on! Great bit of strategy in removing that wrap. 1 Quote
Tlauz Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 He is at it again. Leading FLW Super Tourney at Lacrosse. Incredible. 1 Quote
GReb Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 If he wins today that would be $520k in 3 FLW events this year I think Quote
Tlauz Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 Was glad to see Monsoor win. He was great to listen to. Seems like a great guy. 1 Quote
