I hate it when I’m bank fishing some really good ponds and the stupid golfers keep making me move!  Just kidding.....

Trash for sure is number 1 thing that aggravates me. Another is the “Allegheny River Armada” of crew boats and their coaches going up and down. I rarely go there anymore because of it.

a buddy once said to me "truth gets told in a joke, and it's so true.  your post was gold! hahaha

#6  i experienced  recently. a buddy who had been bugging me to take him fishing all winter.   we are in my car,  it's in reverse, and i am ready to take my foot off the brake  and back out of the driveway.  his phone rings, and it's his g/f telling him she's lonely and he needs to get over there right now.  he looks at me and says "i gotta go".  that was the last chance he'll get.

Trash and screaming kids. Also just had a guy come up to me and fish shoulder to shoulder with me telling me everything I was doing was wrong (he had 10lb braid on his baitcaster for heavy cover and his rig was upside down). That was pretty unbearable.

I am lucky to be surrounded by 7 large man made lakes that surround the area I live.  The lakes have shallow banks that ten feet out drop off to 20 feet straight down.  The shallow area is full of pads and grasses and the drop off is clear with open water throughout the depths.  All these lakes are connected to the everglades system through culvert pipes, so you can find anything in these water bodies.

The most annoying thing bank fishing are SNAKES.  All kind of snakes I have come across in a thirty year period fishing these lakes, also a few gators, large turtles, and all the exotic fish associated with South Florida.  The snakes seem to hide in plain site, and over the years even had one crawl between my feet while concentrating on my fishing.  Almost s*** my pants.  Thankfully not many poisonous ones.

Number two on aggravating would be limestone drop off walls.  They will tear up your line and catch baits frequently.  Over the years I have found 15 to 20 lb. floro line holds up the best and very thin wire hooks will bend when snagged so you get a chance of getting your bait back.   Braided line is the worst getting destroyed by these rock walls.  Thin wire hooks are better for catching making for easy hook sets.  These lakes were all dug out to provide fill for the developments built in low areas.

I am fortunate to live where I do!

I second snakes. I've owned all types of pet snakes and they don't scare me but I just like to know where they are. I don't like them creeping up on me when I'm in a tight area surrounded by trees and bushes. Especially with some of the more aggressive types like water snakes.

I wouldn't tolerate that.

I've invited a guy or two to fish with me that approached my spot in hope that nobody else was there. He started walking away and I invited him to join. Wasn't catching anything anyways. There was barely enough room for both of us between the trees. We had a good talk and I used his rod for a minute - first time using braid. I'm very friendly to people usually.

If someone just walked up and started breaking out the gear right next to me I'd have something to say about it, and I have.

Actually, I had a guy start casting IN FRONT of me once. And I mean directly in front of me as I was adjusting my bait. I'm like what the...? 20 yards of shoreline too. He had kids with him and I had just weighed his son's first bass for him so I didn't make a scene. I really wanted to though, and I would have if his kids weren't there, and it would not have been nice at all.

Should have shoved him in the water ;)  I just left, end of the day anyways. I couldn't believe he did that. Probably one of the litter bugs. Even now I still wish I'd have said something though. Bugs me.

It's amazing how inconsiderate some people are. Not knowing about etiquette is one thing. Not caring is another.

You would need to drive a semi truck to the pond.....

I do...and it still isn't enough, last week I got so sick of seeing all the crap laying around that I pulled out my trash sacks and did a good old fashioned police call of the area, had probably 4 or 5 sacks full sitting in my jump seat back to the yard...I am going to start using people who litter for shark bait after that...knowing my luck even the sharks won't want them though.

Found another annoying thing. Had a boater anchored outside the mouth of a channel connecting two ponds yesterday. We were probably 50 yards apart of more so there was no issue of space. I was standing on the south shore of the channel casting across to the north shore which is lined with rip rap. My bait was a Ned rig and I was catching bass quite frquently. The guy in the boat was watching me and not catching anything...looked to me like he was getting ticked. After about my 5th fish the guy pulled his anchor and trolling motored thru the channel as close to the rip rap as possible. So either the guy was mad at me cuz he can't fish or he doesn't understand fishing etiquette. Either way the guy doesn't deserve a boat if he's that dumb and inconsiderate.

Just keep fishing and ignore everyone else. I see a lot of post from folks talking about what other fishermen are doing, I never look at anyone else when I’m fishing

I was aware of the guy being there since he was so close..I couldn't help but see him as he was in my line of site for my casting. I didn't really pay him much mind until he started talking out loud and then again when he drove over my spot. I don't care what he was doing...until he made it a problem for me.

I've had many verbal alterations with the elusive creature known as "karen" these nasty little buggars are known to harass anglers who are minding their own business.

I had one shout at me to wear a mask last weekend at a pond I was fishing and I shouted back at her "it must take a lot of ****s to not be wearing one yourself" and she got in my face saying "excuse me blah blah you have no idea who you're talking too blah blah I work for the town sanitation department"

I told her to get the garbage men to come pick up the trash here and let's just say she walked away and kept her mouth quiet.

Defend yourself while fishing guys, don't let anyone intimidate you out on the water like that.

This is an exact example of why I purposely fish where there aren’t other people. I have a bad temper when it comes to stupid people especially when I just want to be left alone.

I prefer fishing in places where there aren't other people whenever I can since I value my time spent in the Outdoors. Some of those places you rarely see anyone which is great since I can focus on my fishing and watch all the wildlife around me in peace.

+1, I typically don't have a reputation of tolerance for stupid people, or for people who display a determination for finding trouble, sometimes those folks find exactly what they are looking for and learn it pays to be careful what you wish for.

Just today for example, the wife and I went to a local spot where there were a few other people. The other folks were very distant to us somewhat so it initially wasn’t a bother until they brought their kids out to the bank and the screaming and hollering started. Gunfire does not pierce the air like a screaming child does. The two kids(boy and a girl) were crying and screaming because they couldn’t pet the ducks that were in the middle of the river so they started acting out and getting louder. We packed up and left a few minutes afterwards because that is one thing I will not set through.

Yeah, here lately the popular annoyance seems to be bringing the results of your rabbit like tendencies to swim where I am fishing, quite literally cast and then the kids all jump in between myself and the lure, I am not amused and have decided that no, I will not stop fishing, if your kids get caught, too bad, there is a designated swimming area and maybe 100 accessible yards of bank for fishing.

Even when other people are stupid, I still use the golden rule. “You can’t fix stupid”......... well you can, but it’s illegal. More love is always the answer
