Hi, I’m looking for advice and locations to fish (mainly from shore) in the east Bay Area. I’ve yet to check out Chabot, but plan to with a friend soon. Recently checked out quarry lakes ponds. Recently started getting back into fishing again. Been years and use to go on guides with my dad in the delta and clear lake. Was on the cover of fish sniffer years ago as a little kid with a 8+ lb largemouth from clear lake.

thank you, Chris

My 2 cents, Delta is the best spot.

Yeah you should look at exploring the Delta.  Lots of places to park and fish.  Just use google maps and start looking for areas and drive to check them out.  I’ll give you one starting point.  Check out Clifton Court Forebay.  Free parking and you can walk to your hearts content and fish along the way

Appreciate the advice. I’ve fished the delta in the past just with a guide though. If anyone has tips on some ponds or the back ponds of shadow cliffs or Chabot.

During the trout stocks the bass are stacked right by the pipe that they put the trout in. The bank to the right of the marina always  has trout right after a stock, so Id assume the bass would be there too. The back side doesn’t have a lot of bank access, but is good by boat. There’s also a lot of access on the trail towards the back which I’ve got fish, but I’ve   Inly done well on swimbaits and one fish on a jig
