Ok, so after some use, I can't get used to the knobs on my Coastal SVs or the Tat 100. They are too small and thin for me. I'm OK with the Tat CT knobs.

The SLP knobs are crazy $$$. I can see putting $50 into just knobs.

There are some complete handles with EVA knobs on Ebay for about $25, but I'm unsure of the quality of those.

Are there any other options? I'd like something closer to the knobs on a REVO SX.

You might be able to find old style Daiwa knob for cheaper around 20 or use shimano curado K knob by adding one more bearing/bushing 4x7x2.5mm.

If you like abu Garcia knob, you can simply swap the whole handle assembly between Daiwa and abu (the knob only not compatible)

Tackletrap has the old Tatula handle with knobs for $20.99. Best bet would probably be a wtb in the for sale. Lots of guys change out knobs a lot, so they probably have some laying around. I know I have two of the old flat knobs from the ct, but one is missing the end cap. I'd just give them away.

I guess but those things are horrific looking and feeling.  I always assumed those were for knobs that were riveted on or for people too lazy/not inclined enough to remove and replace the knob.

Agreed.

Those are sold out at TT.

Now I'm curious what you swapped your old CT knobs for, ha.

I replaced mine with the SLP Cork knobs. They're like $15 from Asian Portal. I made a reel order and ordered 6 knobs to combine shipping costs.

Gotcha.

What do you think of the SLPs? Are they a good big larger than the skinny diawa knobs?

I'm eyeing this... I just have no idea what the quality will be.

They're not much larger, but there's a little more to grab on to than the new skinny daiwa knobs.

I have ordered those carbon handles similar to that, but never one with knobs. Abu Garcia handles will fit a Daiwa as well, so you might be able to order the same handle as the revo. Knobs won't fit daiwa posts though.

I've been eyeballing the H2o Xpress carbon handle from academy for $20, but they're not in stock here in town to see what they look like.

Well that's kind of interesting. Looks available to ship.

Wonder what the length is?

That's an $11 Alixpress handle sold on Ebay for $27.  They probably buy them on Alibaba in bulk for an even cheaper price.  I really need to get into the buy low on Ali and sell high on Ebay game.

I never really search Alixpress, but I will if it's the same handle.

Either way, it worries me that it might be junk.

Those will work too as long as they fit Daiwa/Shimano 7mm shaft.

These do for the same price.  The blue matches the blue on the spool and zero adjuster blue.  Shipping takes forever on Aliexpress right now though.

Yep, same knob just EVA.

I think I may like the cork look with the blue Coastals. I just noticed they are quoting about a month lead time. UGH.

Your best bet is to create a WTT thread in the classifieds.  Plenty of guys like that new style Daiwa knob for a more modern look to their reels.  You should be able to trade them for the Tatula type big paddle knobs easily.

Might do that.

I think I'll place an order on Ali too. For $9 a set for knobs, I can wait a few weeks.

I have no idea what Daiwa was thinking putting these thinner knobs on some of their newer reels (Tat Elite, new SV, 100, etc.

I like them on the SV for finesse techniques. Don't think I'd enjoy cranking with them at all.

There is a larger version of the new Daiwa knobs that they put on the Ryoga. They are incredible and one of these days I’m going to outfit a couple other reels with them.

I actually like the rubbery paddle knobs and use them on most of my kayak reels because they’re so grippy.

They sill look kind of flat to me.. But they'd definitely be better.

Well actually, I think the one on the left is the kind that is on my Coastals.

Too flat for me.

If you have the big ones then you should definitely be able to sell them or trade them for something you like.

I normally replace all my knobs with the daiwa rcs or slp style I knobs. I usually do the black or cork colors. They pretty much match just about any reel.

I replaced the handle on my coastal sv with a carbon fiber handle and black rcs style I knobs. I like it much better than the thin rubber knobs that came on it.

I have noticed that although the ABU handles will fit the Daiwa reels ( both are 8mm x 5mm) the hole for the retainer screw will not usually fit the Daiwa retainers. Not a big deal really, you can either use the ABU retainer and screw or order one of the ones from Hedgehog that has small slot instead of a round hole. Those will fit either.

I am shocked ar how much people want for custom knobs.  So many people have about the Hawgtech but I am not paying 100 dollars for some knobs and handle when I only paid 125 for the whole stinking reel.  Ridiculous.
