They're been really durable for me and they come with 2 extra tails. I haven't had to use a single spare tail yet though. 1 Quote

The homemade ones work amazing though. Quote

I happened to acquire one and tried it out, I had to reel fast to get it on plane and spinning and then I basically had to burn it to keep the plopper spinning. I couldn't get a slow bumbling plop like I thought it might have. Are you guys fishing it stop and go or just burning it? Seems like it is becoming a river smallie staple around here. Quote

What size did you get and was it the River 2 Sea authentic Plopper or a knockoff? The 90 size is the only one I have to reel fast to get it on plane. If any other size gives me that problem it’s because the tail has accumulated junk where it spins and needs to be cleared. As far as retrieves it depends. They all work. I have had success on all of the following retrieves: Cast and immediate retrieve. Cast and pause then retrieve Stop and go Popper style of pull then pause Cast upsteam, let float downstream with subtle twitches (90 size just enough to make head bob up and down) That last one has got a lot of bites. 1 Quote
DaubsNU1 Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Fished a Plopper for the first time last weekend...caught pike on the darn thing! Bone colored. They hit on a steady retrieve consistently. One time the pike smacked it in to the air...I sped up the retrieve as fast as I could and triggered a follow up strike. Fun! Quote

georgeyew Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 I noticed that my 110 plopper tail is not spinning as freely as before. I checked and there are no dirt/weeds stuck between the body and tail. I do see that at times the tail seems to be rubbing against the body (like the connecting wire is bent). And I've tried to bend it back but cannot get enough angle to do it (the clearance is very tight). Any of you guys have the same issue? Quote
