North Forks Composits often deeply discounts their blanks several times per year.  Most recently they were $125 for X-Ray and 60-75% off the HM, IM and others.  You might sign up for their email notifications to know when the sales happen.  Also, try the delta blanks for moving bait builds.  I got a few for under $40 and they are really good, for me.  Delta CB-7106 is great for deep cranks, heavy chatterbaits and med spoons.

No. I can’t sign up. It’ll just make me buy more stuff that I really don’t need. They do look like good rods, though.

My brother  gifted me a delta series 7-2" ml for my birthday last week. He apparently liked the first strike  rod I gave him a few years back.  This delta series has an lmx blank, which has apparently been updated.  I have an old (2016) first strike rod with an lmx blank, and this 'new' lmx seems to be wrapped and has a heavy texture.

Old lmx on the left...

I bought one of the Black Widow Edge rods two months ago. The website said 3-5 weeks delivery but I got it in 10 days. It's the finest rod I own and I have a plethora of spinning and casting rods. Yes, the BW handle seems smooth and slippery but in use it does not slip. What it does do is increase sensitivity. I can feel every little nuance on the bottom through the entire grip. It became my favorite rod the first outing. I just ordered a spinning rod from Edge and next month will be ordering a flipping/punching rod from them as well. Yes, the posts of lousy customer service worry me some but as nice as the rods are I am willing to take a chance. Hopefully, that part of the business will improve. I would love to see Edge succeed. Always nice to have more choices. Peace

I love the 2 Black widow drop shot rods I got and the first strike spinning rod. I plan to get 2 more from them eventually.. I actually prefer the carbon handles. I had decent service, no complaints. They gave me the sale price for one of my rods days after the sale ended. It never hurts to ask!

I wish more companies had carbon handles. I got  a cashion rod recently too. I like it but like the edge rods better so far. Who else makes rods with similar carbon handles that is usa made?

From FAQs

I have a dispute with 'company X'. Can I post about it here?
While we can empathize with your frustration, the best course of action is deal directly with the company. Escalate it up the ladder, file a grievance with PayPal or Ebay (if they were involved with the transaction). File a mail fraud complaint with the post office. There are other options, but attacking the company in a public forum is not appropriate nor allowed. Such posts will be removed.

I don’t know that I understand why roadwarrior made this last post.  For anyone who has a concern regarding NFC-Edge Rods,  there were some internal changes and some additions to management.  They opened their first Pro Shop next to the production facility last year.  Having the ability to handle product really helped in making purchase decisions.  Being able to talk with design staff and the CEO Alex was an eye opener.  My experience with service has been great, enough that I have another rod coming.  Orders are running an average of 31-33 days out.  Be aware that the pro staff refer to bass as ditch pickles.?

Edited because of a complaint that needs to be addressed with the company,

not on the Forum.

A few months ago I couldnt decide between 2 models of their Silver widow rods for my new texas rig worm rod. I got a call quickly, I forgot the man's name "sorry", but he was extremely knowledgeable and described exactly the difference between the 2 rods to me. He was very friendly, in no hurry at all, and just a pleasure to chat with. He then reassured me that if I got the rod but didnt like it and wanted to swap it out for the other model that that was no problem at all.  I love the rod I chose so much that I also purchased the other of the 2. Those rods were in stock, so the wait was not bad at all, about 10 days.... they were very busy with all the springtime orders at that time.   I do plan to get a few more rods from Edge.

I just got another Edge Silver Widow rod and a Black widow rod in. These are some sweet rods! I also got a St.Croix Legend Extreme rod in. It too is amazing.

With the great sales Edge puts on every so often, it is too tempting... I do want 2 more rods from them eventually, then I should be fully updated/upgraded.

forgot to mention the Edge Epitome casting rod I got too. It was a preorder, so the wait was a few months like they said. It is a super lightweight med hvy rod with a feel like no other rod I have tried. I may get another of these as it is useful for many types of baits and is a sweet feeling, light rod.

I bought two Edge Epitome rods one casting & one spinning both on sale for $299. I also bought an 8' swim bait rod LMX on sale and I am extremely pleased with the quality, lightness and sensitivity of the Edge rods. I waited about 6 months on the swimbait rod but it was worth it. Edge rods sell directly from the factory to the consumer. They run frequent sales for their existing customers on the email list. They are not competing with traditional rod companies because they are a niche builder that cannot keep up with demand. They take orders then fullfill them. If you understand how they run their business & appreciate the quality product that Gary Loomis has always produced they are the best I have ever been exposed to. Most of their blanks are unsanded so they feel rough or textured to the touch but are stronger than a sanded blank.

I ordered a EFX Pro from them a couple weeks ago, I only ordered it because they had it in stock and on discount price & free shipping/returns. I have never tried or owned a EDGE rod so I thought I'd give it a try since they have the free returns. They did send me the free return the next day that I decided that I wanted to return the rod. Haven't received my refund yet, so I hope I receive it next week or give EDGE a call.

I wasn't impressed at all with the build quality, the butt on the rod wasn't finished very well so the carbon really dug into my arm, several guides were out of alignment and rod was really tip heavy. I like the look of the rod but that was about it.

I own other rods for half the price with better build quality/in hand feeling/balanced.

With all that said, I wouldn't recommend their rods.

Hello all, has anyone had any recent experience with EDGE Rods delta to black widow, Im curious on the expereinces yall have had with the actual rods themselves. In terms of the fit and finish, the "Sensitivity" and if the powers and tapers are consistent among each series and any other helpful info would be highly appreciated thanks.

I got my hands on a few after fishing with one of their pro-staffers.  Just another rod. Edge as a company has the most horrendous customer service.  Dive deep and read the reviews.  I did try to order a few to try. That did not go so well. I would not support them in any way.  I now roll with ALX (has a current sale) and they have excellent customer service.  If you call it will be the owner or his wife that answer the phone. If you want super high end then get anything but Edge. St. Croix, Loomis, or some overpriced Japanese rod, custom build yourself one or pay someone to quadruple the cost to build you one.

I have another Black widow casting rod on order, a medium lite fast.  As far as customer service, I have no complaints. I have talked to them on the phone 2 times, and emailed several time. They have always been informative and helpful to me, answering questions and explaining differences between models. The guy was polite and in no rush to end the call. You could tell he loves fishing and enjoys working there.

The carbon handles on the Silver widow and black widow rods are by  far my favorite of any handle I have used. They may look slick, but grip has never been an issue.

After this order comes in, I just want to upgrade 1 more rod, my flipping/pitching rod. I want a 8' or   8 1/2' rod, one piece not the telescoping like my current old rod. I am not sure on the other specs I want, yet.

I'm a fan.  I have 2 black widows in the 5 power.  I use silicone tape for added grip.
