I responded to another thread asking if what are your go to set ups and it was hard to answer because I honestly use whatever is working.  However I do have 2 duplicate set ups that I use alot!  the difference is one has braid and a leader, the other is straight floro.

I seen a well known bass fisherman here in the area go to local tackle spot one time and bought 3 identical Vertias 2.0 crankin rods with 3 Idenitcal lews speed spool reels.

Anyone else here have 2 or more of the same rod and reel rigs on their boats?

Powell 723 & lews tournament pro 7:1 for me.  I carry 2 and use them for alot of different lures.

I though I had one or two doubles, but the more I think about it I actually have several...

2 - Shimano Zodias MF with Curado 70s

2 - St Croix Avid X MHM with Curado DCs

2 - St Croix Panfish ULF with Saharas

2 - St Croix Panfish LXF with Saharas

2 - St Croix Mojos HF with SLXs

2 - St Croix Mojos MF with Tatula SVs

3 - Loomis IMX Pros MHXF with Bantums

I have one GLX 852 with a Aldebaran right now, but plan to get another.

I guess I like doubles.

Yes ~ Several in fact.

All casting rigs.

Duplicates include but may not be limited to

 Three 7'4" MH Composite cranking

 Two 7' MH Composite cranking

 Three 7'1" MH Graphite (fast)

 Two  7'6"MH Graphite (Mod-Fast)

However, my spinning gear is so technique specific, that each is a bit different to address the needs.

btw - I like round reels.

I've got just one set of identical set ups:

Daiwa Laguna casting reel on a Falcon Jason Christie series rod 7'3" MH.

One has 30lb braid, the other has 50.

They are used for frogging and flipping/pitching.

The reason for the duplicate is that I had got them on sale. The Laguna's were only $30 down from $60, and the rods we're found on Clearance for $15 from ~$100.

For me, the exact duplicates are....

MB XX Diablo Spec-R w/ Core MG7 (x2)

MB XX Spinnerbait Special w/ Scorpion DC7 (x2)

MB XX Jerkbait Special w/ Scorpion 1000XT (x2)

They are versatile rods and I liked them so much I wanted another ;).

Sweet...once work picks back up, I'm definatly eyeballing the diablo and fmj rods from megabass... but we shall see.  I hear nothing but good things about them.

Well, unplanned but just ordered my second St Croix 2020 Legend Xtreme HF with a Shimano Bantam. I guess the second 852 will have to wait for a bit longer now.

Same as a couple of you guys, I have in the works now for to duplicate a Abu Garcia Winch setup that I currently use. 7’ Medium - Moderate Action. I love this setup.

I generally set myself up around St. Croix Rods and Shimano reels. Over the last few seasons I Randomly picked up a few Abu Garcia Rods and reel setups that I love to fish.

I’ll always be a huge fan of them. Fished their stuff for 40+ years. But went outside of the box to try some Abu Garcia stuff. I stayed away from their lower end stuff and am very satisfied. There were some bad rod reviews but I link about 80% or more of those issues to user mistakes. I have had no rods break.

my only duplicate setup is a 7'3 MH tatula elite casting rod which I have two of. both paired with daiwa tatula CT's and 15lb test fluorocarbon. that rod is my "all around" stick that i can throw texas rigs, smaller swimbaits, jigs, chatterbaits, etc.

From time to time I've had duplicate set ups.   I have 4 BPS Extreme 7'4" MH Rods - I've liked them for various reaction baits from time to time.   Currently they are on the bench but probably not forever.   For fishing creeks in southern Missouri I have 3 5'9" Medium/Ex fast Fenwick HMG spinning rods.  They can throw anything I want to throw when I'm floating creeks & streams.

Currently on the first string traveling team I have 2 Fenwick AETOS 7'2" MH/ Exfast jig rods.  I use these mostly for throwing my home made jika rigs.   Also on the traveling team I have 3 6'8" Fenwick AETOS 6'8" AETOS MH/fast rods that I use interchangeably for throwing spinner baits/square bills & sometimes a Whopper Plopper.

The only ones that I bought on purpose were the 7'2" Aetos rods.   The 6'8" rods, I bought one, then another, then a year later bought another one.

I have at least two of the same exact combos for mostly bottom contact baits mostly because I fish different depths often during the day and can have two shaky head setups rigged up for shallow and deep, same with jigs and t rigs.

I have two MegaBass Diablo Spec R's with Tatula Elite reels and 30 lb Sufix

I have two MegaBass Braillist's with 30 Tatula SV Tw's and 30 lb Suffix

They are always with me.

Not really.  I have 2 each Okuma Helios 7' MF, Cabela's Prodigy 7' MF and 6'6" MHF, Fenwick Aetos 7' MM, Hammer Elite 7' MH and iRod Genesis II 7' MHF.  I have multiples of several reels so I could make duplicates of them if I wanted to.  Maybe if I ever get to retire and live on a lake with good fishing, I would get to use them enough with different reels to determine if any combinations stand out.

Yup, though I won't bring all with me depending what and where I decide to fish. I'm trying to simplify and focus my fishing, doing less run and gun. Also focusing more on big rivers and largies this year vs the usual Great Lakes smallies.

Two Cara Head Turners (6'10" H mod fast) w 8:1 Concept A's

Two Cara Swim Jig (7'2" MH fast) for moving baits with 6.3:1 Curado 100's

Two Envy Finesse spinning (7'2" ML extra fast) with 2500 Daiwa's for tubes, wacky, stuff for 8 lb line

Have dedicated dropshot, topwater, jerkbait, frog/punch, spinnerbait/bladed jig, and Ned rods but not in duplicate.

I've only got one set of duplicates.  It's a president spinning reel on a Daiwa procaster-s 6'6" M/F rod.  10 lb mono on both.  One is used for small crankbaits, and the other for weightless and t-rigged plastics.

One of my many quirks is buying at least 2 of everything. As a result I have nearly 2 of all my rods and reels.

Oooo, oooo!

You should report on that legend xtreme hf when it comes in. I’ve been searching around for opinions and so far haven’t really found many that paint much of a picture beyond the conquest-tinged “they’re too expensive” rap from dudes who don’t own one.

I have a few duplicate rods. I have 3 ABU Volatile ML 6'10" XF they have the same reel, Daiwa PX68R, but the reels all have hugely different spools so they really aren't the same rigs.

Likewise I have 3 ABU Villain 6'6" MHF rods. I like them a lot. One is a spare, one has an OG Steez  w/ Zillion SV spool on it and the other a TD-Z w/stock spool, so they are not the same rig either. I tend to build a rig for every different thing I want to do. I probably enjoy that almost as much as fishing them.

One of my sons does it differently. He will usually buy 3 exact copies of each rig he has and will just rig them with 3 different baits. he says he likes being able to put a rig down and pick up another with a different bait and not have to adjust to a different feel.
